Your perceiving vision allows you to hit any target, but what does it matter if you can't see through the facades of your friends? - Inspirational quote #1
Cry's POV----------------------------------
During the meal, Minx didn't talk, but played with the orb. What did she call it again. Oracles crystal? No, Oracles lens? No, It was something along the line of... Oracles Scale of course. What did it even mean. I had lifted the mask above my mouth so I would be able to eat. The food was actually quite delicious.
"So, why'd ya go to town." she suddenly spoke. Her mood changes where incredible. She just ignored me and played with the Oracles scale and suddenly, BAM, serious face.
"Well you see. I'm from the Mist mountains, usually mind our business and keep to ourselves. Then one day while napping I wake up after a dream and I see that orb floating above me. I woke up from a nightmare about the village being attacked, the villagers killed, women and children abducted and the houses burnt down. Afterwards I went to the village and found it in a state of chaos. I manage to gather up all the bodies of the men and elderly women and buried them. I also got this armor, sword and mask, so that I could gain vengeance, and rescue the villagers." I said.Until this very moment, I had shed no tears over my losses. But now, as this cat girl was asking into it, I was reminded of the horror I had lived. My eyes got red under the mask and the tears rolled down my cheeks. Minx tilted her head. She apparently didn't understand it.
"You know what. If you want to take on the orcs, you'll need some more strength in this group. And I possibly know where to look for that." She said and sent me a smile. I didn't know if it made me feel happy, or scared the shit out of me, but it definitely wasn't pleasant not to know. "What do you know?" I asked. "The rumors say, that in the woods west from Greatrock, there is a man, whose reputation goes as the bear man. Some say, that the bears are afraid of him, others, that when they attack, he skins them with his bare hands." Along with the storytelling, her voice gradually got darker. How much more could this woman do to scare me. "He is grand as a rock, with arms the size of logs. His face is threatening, and his growl can scare off even the hungriest of ghouls. He lives alone, because people are scared that he might eat them alive. He was exiled while he was still a teenager, back then only the master blacksmith could beat him in a brawl, but even then, he had a hard time. His name..."
She had stopped talking. "What is his name?" I asked. "I don't know." she smiled. "THEN WHY'D YOU PRETEND SO?" I accidentally yelled. She chuckled.
A moment later a huge hand was put on my shoulder. "Say little lady, is this little scrub bothering you." A rough, deep voice said behind me. I look over my shoulder to see a mountain of a man. He was glaring at me like a mad priest. "No no, he's quite amusing really." Minx answered. "Wait a minute, that's the witch who tricked me earlier this week!" Someone yelled from the back. "Cry, how good are you at hand to hand combat?" Minx asked. "Ummm, you know, like kinda..." I mumbled. Minx grabbed my arm and dragged me out the door. "RUN!" She yelled. I was baffled at first, but when I heard the angry, slightly drunken mass flood out the inn I regained my senses. "Why do I have to be dragged into this?" I yelled. "Because it's fun!" Minx replied. And we ran.
The moon had risen before we had lost our pursuers. "We gotta find some backup." I huffed. "What was your plan when you got here?" Minx asked.
"Define plan." I said. She gave me a grumpy face. "You are even dumber than I thought." She exclaimed. I am indeed not the smartest dude that could have taken on this quest, but I have no experience, what'd she expect?
"Let me help you out then. Well go to the woods and recruit the bear man. Well go through Hayenport and cross the tiger plains." She said. Cry's stomach rumbled. "But I'm still hungry." Cry said. "Well stock up at Hayenport." Minx said and dragged him away.In the evening they where at the outskirts of Hayenport. "You know, we could always just jump into it and just reck the shit out of the orcs, you and I." Minx said. "I'm not nearly strong enough for that." I whined at her. "Well just train you a bit first." Minx cut me off. "You're a terrifying woman." I sighed. Minx was about to smack me when an arrow hit the ground just in front of her feet.
"Who goes there?" A voice said from somewhere above. "None of your business you bloody gnarg* lover!" Minx yelled.
----
*Gnargs are hideously ugly gnomes. Like, they make you wanna barf just thinking about them, ugly.
----
"Hey, a gnarg can be lovely too." The voice said.
Minx whispered, "we've got ourselves a weird one." "Seriously, uhm... My name is Cry, and this is cat lady magic wielding witch bitch." I said. "What'd you call me?" Minx hissed."Well, I guess you're not enemies." The voice said and a blonde man jumped down from a tree. Instantly Minx punched him. "OOOWWWWW, why'd you do that?!" He asked. "Cause you're a prick." She bluntly said. "Anyways, how's it going, my name is PewDiePie." He said. "Nice to meet ya friend." I said. "Hold on, FRIEND? He shot an arrow at me." Minx exclaimed. "If I wanted to I would've hit." PewDiePie grumped. "You cocky little.." Minx started before I broke them up. "Stop fighting guys. Listen PewDiePie, we are on a quest here, and since apparently you're a good archer, I thought you might wanna join us." I asked
"Hold up." Minx exclaimed before PewDiePie cried out. "A QUEST! Heeeeell yeeeeaah, I'm in." He said.
"Oh boy." Minx sighed.I shook PewDiePie's hand and told him were we where headed. "By the way, is there something easier we can call you than PewDiePie?" I asked. "You can just call me Pewds." He said. And the we headed for Hayenport.
