The perfect stranger

Jon's chorus class seemed pretty ok, and is probably because all the other students are just as talented as him. The teacher, ms. Farnand, is going over the songs that the class will be going over.

"We will starting off this year with a frozen section, learning all the songs and piano accompaniments. Our first lesson, frozen heart." Every groaned at this because everyone wants to do let it go. But Jon was happy because this song is more his voice range. Elle is sitting in the back, not caring because frozen is one of her favorite movies.

ELLES POV

So the weirdest thing happened today. I met this guy, who made the after ever after videos, and he seems pretty down to earth. He doesn't seem like he's into the same things I am, but he's kinda cute, so maybe I'll hang out with him. And he's definitely gonna need protection because popular kid material, and the others will want to steal him away. Why am I coming up with excuses to hang out with this guy, it isn't like I like him or anything.

So now chorus is over, and it's off to science. My worst subject. But Jon doesn't seem to be having such a tough time. And maybe I won't either, since we were assigned to be lab partners for the semester.

Lunch. The only class I get straight As in. Except when I go and ya know, throw up my food because my parents call me fat. And boys at school call me fat. And so do the girls. So I guess I would get a B in lunch. I eat well, I just don't keep it down. Jon is picked up by the pop crowd and is seated over there. He looks a little uncomfortable. Especially with everyone hounding him with questions and staring at him. He seems to make some excuse to leave and comes over to my table. I convince my self he just came over so there wouldn't be much attention on him. It's just me, and my friends Cegella and Jack.

"Hey guys, I hope you don't mind me sitting here. It's a bit crazy everywhere else," Jon says.

"Yeah it's ok. It is the first day of school. Everyone is trying to catch up with everyone. But why would it be crazy to you. You're new, you have no one to catch up with," Cegella replies. She always has her head in a book, and the only time she goes online is for homework and to read attack on Titan fan fiction. So of course she doesn't know he is.

"Cege, that's Jon Cozart, paint. Have you never heard of him? We sing his songs all the time," Jack tells Cegella. He shakes his head and starts up our normal conversations. Basically all the gossip. He hangs out with us, but he's Jella's twin, so he gets all the info. "Did you you hear maddie Schwartz got pregnant over the summer?"

"What. No way. She still looks super thin," I reply. Jack comes back with, "Apparently she had a 'miscarriage' and she's doing better now. But here mom won't let her out the house past 8:30." We all make faces showing how we are disgusted by what Maggie did, and to show we feel kinda sorry.

"Wow. That sounds awful. I hope this doesn't blow up and everyone hates her or something. I mean, a pregnant 11th grader. That would suck. But now that I think about it, is sex normal here. Is anyone in here even a virgin anymore besides me," Jon asks. "The three of us are. We are unicorns in a bunch, and now a new unicorn joins us. I'm not sure about the rest of the school. No one has any decency anymore," I respond.

The day goes by kinda slowly since my last three classes are band, calculus, and social studies, and none of my friends are in those classes.

Before I leave school, I run into Jon. It turns out we walk the same way home, only he lives a block away. We exchange numbers so we can talk later, and we part ways. It the first day so no homework, except in English one where we have to start thinking of topics for a research paper we are doing later in the year. Me and Jon text for hours. Mostly emojis and weird jokes, and it's fun. Around 11:30, he asks me to go to the park after school the next day. I say ok, but I'm not sure if he's asking me on a date or not. I know Jella likes him, Jack told me, and how can I compete with her. Jack said he told Jon, so I guess this is just a friend outing. But, I don't go out much, so I'm looking forward to it!
