The Forbidden Friend - Harry Potter

Chapter 3 - Detention

*Athena's POV* 

You and Draco were in detention with Ron, Harry, Charlie and Hermione. You sat opposite Draco, Charlie sat next to Harry and Ron and Hermione sat opposite each other also. "God this is a waste of my time." Draco said. You nodded and scoffed at the same time. "Quiet Mr. Malfoy or would you like to stay another hour." McGonagall said. Draco shook his head and looked back down at his book. "They're gonna pay for this." Draco whispered. "What are you gonna do?" You whispered back. "You'll see." He said as he smirked while looking over at Harry. 

Detention ended and you went to lunch. You sat at the Slytherin table with Draco, Crabbe, Goyle and Pansy. You looked over at the Gryffindor table and smiled to Charlie, you wanted to go sit with her but you didn't want Draco to know you were friends otherwise he'd be pissed and you just want to make friends here since it was only you and Charlie. You just shrugged and looked back down at your plate. 

*Charlie's POV* 

Harry, Ron and Hermione are so nice they've been so friendly I'm glad to know other people in Gryffindor. I wish me and Athena could hang out more I guess we've got our new friends when we're not together, I guess that's what happens when you adapt to your house. "Has anyone seen Hermione?" Ron asked. You shook your head. "I thought she was with us the whole time after detention, she must've gone back to the common room." Harry said. You overheard two Hufflepuff students walk past, "Did you hear, apparently Hermione was crying in the bathroom." "Did you guys hear that, we should go check on her make sure she's okay." You all agreed and went to look for Hermione in the bathrooms. "I'll go in since it's a girls bathroom" You said to Ron and Harry. They nodded. "Hermione?" You asked to see if she would answer. "Charlie?" She replied, you could hear her sniffling. "It's me Hermione, you can come out." You said She opened the last bathroom stall and you saw her red and puffy her eyes were. "Why were you crying?" You asked. "I don't want to sound dramatic but I can't believe I got detention, if my parents find out they'll be so disappointed, not even a week here and we already got detention, I can only imagine what the rest of the year will be like." She replied while wiping away her tears. "It's okay Hermione you don't have to-" You were cut off by Harry and Ron running into the bathroom. "Girls only!" Hermione said pointing to the sign. "We have to go there's a sphinx coming towards the girls bathroom quick!" Harry yelled at us. We all ran outside the bathroom but it was too late it was too close for us to run anywhere else it was quick and it's tail long, we ran back inside the bathroom and all hid in one stall. "What do we do?" Ron whispered. "I don't know!" Harry said. "Well we can't just hide in here it will find us." you said. "Okay I have an idea, I'll create a distraction while you three run and get help, on the count of three okay?" Hermione spoke up. "Hermione no, you can't defend yourself from that sphinx on your own, let me help." You said. "Okay fine" She agreed. "1...2...3!" On the count of three they swung the bathroom door open and Hermione jumped out from the stall running to the end of the bathroom while Harry and Ron ran the other way right past the sphinx. You stood next to Hermione with your wands ready not even sure what you were going to do next or what spell you were going to do. "Hermione, what now?" You said terrified. "Um, I didn't think this far ahead." She replied. The sphinx got closer and closer almost standing right in front of them. Suddenly the sphinx stopped, now standing in front of Hermione and yourself. "Answer this riddle and you shall pass, 'Which creature walks on four legs in the morning, two legs in the afternoon and three legs in the evening'" You looked at Hermione a million answers flowing through your head. "Oh gosh I don't know." Hermione said looking at you confused. "It's okay we'll figure this out lets just keep thinking." A few more moments passed until Hermione shot up. "I've got it, what creature walks on four legs then two legs then three legs, it's a human oh how could I be so stupid of course it's a human." She said so dramatically. You both looked at the sphinx waiting to see if it was right. The sphinx spoke no words, he simply sat on his behind legs. You slowly walked passed to see if it would let you through and once it did you and Hermione ran for it. "Oh thank gosh you guys are okay!" Harry said in relief. "How the hell did a Sphinx come looking for us, someone must've put a spell on it but who would do that." You said.
