Their conversation is vague at my distance from the dining room, but I can say that they are getting along well.
"That's what they got for messing the wrong person," mom said between her laughters as I came into the dining room. Across her is Francine laughing along with her. She's wearing a loose shirt paired with a bermuda shorts right now and who knows where'd she got those garments.
"Oh, honey, you're here! Hinintay ka namin ni tita para sabay-sabay na tayong kumain," masiglang bati ni Francine sa akin nang mapansin niya ako.
I stopped halfway to where they're at. She just called me by another endearment!
She held my wrist and gently dragged me to the dining table. I, on the other hand, kept silent kahit na may hindi maipaliwanag na pakiramdam ang bumabagabag sa akin.
So what kung ibang endearment ang tinawag niya sa akin? Am I affected? Tch. Never!
Naupo ako sa katabing upuang inookupahan ni Francine and so does she on hers.
"Nagha? Huwag ka na munang pumunta sa kumpanya. We'll be going somewhere else," mom said having a bite of the bacon.
"Why? And whose going to handle the business today then?" I asked, eating a spoon of rice.
"Nagel," tipid na sagot ni mom and continued eating.
"Nagel? But he's a jerk."
"Nagha?! Where are your manners? Nasa hapag-kainan tayo. Isa pa, kahit gano'n iyon, he's still your brother and my son. He can change. Kailangan niya lang ng makakatapat," mom snickered.
"As if he would change." ...words I want to say aloud but chose not to.
For everyone's information, Hyzen Nagel is my brother and not just my brother. He's my twin brother, actually, but we are way far different from each other, don't be confused. I do focus more in businesses and other things that are more worthy to be given attention while he, on the other hand, focuses more in living wild and free. Back on our school-days, he was always seen or caught hitting almost all the girls in our batch and eventually leaving them brokenhearted. And I think that's enough for calling him a jerk.
"Then where are we going?" I asked. I look at mom and caught her smiling ear to ear looking at me then Francine. I look at Francine and she as well look clueless as I am.
"We're going shopping!"
"I have a bad feeling about this," I thought but I kind of said it aloud because mom tapped my arm and said, "Mawawala rin 'yan."
We're already here in a shopping mall, kalahating oras ang byahe mula sa amin. The shopping mall was named as Lovely. I'm not new to the place since I have some things in my condo that I bought here alone kaya ilang beses na rin akong nakapunta rito.
"Woah!" And here I am, looking like a dog following his masters.
As we got inside a boutique, mom quickly moved her feet to a pole clothes rack as she told Francine to look around herself, too.
I stood beside her.
"Uhh..." Francine was speechless, probably because ladies' fashion is not her thing. "Sir?"
I look sideways at her.
"Kailangan ko pa bang gawin ang pinapagawa ng mom mo?"
"What do you think?"
