"It looks like I win, Takagi-san"

This is the first fanfic I have written, so I hope its okay. This story has some inspiration from another manga titled "Soredemo Ayumu wa Yosetekura", which is made by the same author of Takagi-san!

After the fireworks festival, Nishikata has come to terms with the fact that he has a crush on his best friend, Takagi-san. However, he is determined to win against her in a contest before he confesses to her.

After finishing up his homework and daily push-ups, Nishikata was ready to go to sleep.

'Takagi-san teased me 34 times today" thought Nishikata, 'no matter what I try, I can never seem to defeat Takagi-san, she just always seems to have the upper hand.' 

'Think, Nishikata, there has to be a way to win against her' thought Nishikata

After a few minutes of thought, he comes to a realization: 'Technically, she did say that contest will never expire.......'

"NO, THAT'S WAY TOO EMBARRASSING" Nishikata exclaimed aloud while blushing.

"Nishikata! Go to sleep, you have school tomorrow!' said Nishikata's mother

"Yes Mom!"

Nishikata didn't get much sleep that night because he was thinking about Takagi-san

The next morning, Nishikata was walking to school as he thought, 'I don't think that I will be able to do something that embarrassing, but if I don't then I might never be able to confess to Takagi-san'

"Good morning Nishikata"

"AHHH, Takagi-san, you suprised me! Umm, good morning" replied Nishikata

Takagi then started giggling at Nishikata's scream

"Nishikata, your reactions are the best" said Tkagi while still giggling

The two of them continued walking to school, but Nishikata was still blushing.

"Nishikata?"

"Y-yeah?"

"I haven't even done anything yet, but your face is already red"

"Ehhh, no it's just really hot today that's all"

"Hmmm, if you say so Nishikata" said Takagi with a smug grin

Nishikata was blushing throughout the whole school day as he thought about possibly putting his plan into action.

Before one of their classes started, Takagi called out to Nishikata

"Hey Nishikata"

"Y-yeah, Takagi-san?"

"You've been blushing all day, did someone confess to you, perhaps?"

"W-W-WHAT??? NO, OF COURSE NOT!!!"

Takagi then started giggling, then asked another question, but a little bit more serious this time, "Or maybe, you are the one who is planning to confess to someone."

Nishikata took a brief pause, and unconvincingly said, "N-no, why would have anyone to confess to"

"You know, Nishikata, if you were to confess to a certain someone, it would go well for you, and who knows maybe you'll get confessed to someday."

"W-what do you mean by that" asked Nishikata who was blushing more than usual.

"Who knows~" said Takagi

It was the end of the school day, and Takagi and Nishikata were leaving the school to head home.

'I've made my decision, I will win this contest and then finally confess to Takagi-san' thought Nishikata

But, the two were unusually quiet on the way home, and Nishikata couldn't muster up the courage to put his plan into action.

"Well, I'm this way, see you tomorrow, Nishikata." said Takagi

"R-right, see you tomorrow, Takagi-san" replied Nishikata

After their parting, Nishikata thought to himself, 'Dammit, why didn't I do it? Well, I will for sure do it tomorrow. No. If i don't do it now, then I'll keep pushing it off forever'

Nishikata then sprinted as fast as he could so he could catch up to Takagi.

"TAKAGI-SAN!!!!" Nishikata yelled, as he was running out of breath

"Nishikata? What is it?"

'Well, here goes nothing' thought Nishikata

Nishikata then grabbed Takagi-san into an embrace and kissed her

"Takagi-san, I love you" whispered Nishikata into Takagi's ear

"..." Takagi remained silent

'Oh no, did I upset her, oh my goodness why did I do that?'

He then let go of Takagi, which gave him a good luck at her face

'Wait- is- is Takagi-san actually blushing?' thought Nishikata

Takagi then ran back up to Nishikata and gave him a big hug.

"I love you too, Nishikata. You have no idea how long I have waited for you to say those words." said Takagi, who was blushing almost just as much as Nishikata.

Takagi then kissed Nishikata, which made him blush even more.

"Um, Takagi-san"

"Yes?"

"It looks like I win, Takagi-san"

"Hmm?"

"That day you said that the contest to k-kiss you had no expiration, remember?"

"Oh you're right, I did say that. Well, what will my punishment be?" asked Takagi.

"W-well, you...." Nishikata murmured

"What was that?" asked Takagi

"Y-you have to h-hold hands with me every day on the way to school and on the way home from school!" exclaimed Nishikata

Takagi then giggled.

"Huh?" said Nishikata, who was very confused

"You know Nishikata, that is not a punishment, that is a reward."
