The thing was, there was no illusion. Neither of them believed that it would ever be possible. How on Godric's green Earth would they have ever been together? The world would have to be altered fundamentally.
There was something freeing in that. Something so honest that Venus had never experienced. All she had ever known was smoke and mirrors, hiding from the truth.
She revelled in not hiding for once.
