Jett

"You want me to do what?" I yelled as Kaden and Harley stood in the parking lot. People looked at us strangely, walking by us.

Kaden and Harley looked at eat other and rolled their eyes.

"Let me see if I understand you correctly. You want me to beg Amelia for a date," I said, pacing in front of them. "How do I beg someone when I'm trying to be their friend?" I raised a finger to emphasize my point. "The same person who thinks I'm a babysitter and dislikes me."

I stopped and looked at Kaden like he's insane because he is.

"I didn't say beg for a date. I said, beg for friendship. You take everything literally," Kaden told me.

I looked at Kaden with annoyance.

"Jett, it's not rocket science. You get down on your knees and beg. You want to say, Amelia, please be my friend, and I promise not to treat you like you're two," Kaden reasoned with a shrug.

"That's the dumbest thing I ever heard come from your mouth," I retorted.

"Who's has girlfriends here?" Kaden asked. They raised their hand. "Who doesn't have a girlfriend?" They looked at me.

"That's not funny," I mumbled.

"Then I suggest that you beg, or you will have a long, hard road ahead of you trying to get my cousin to like you," Kaden advise.

"I'm better with a cake," I reasoned.

"Do you even know how to bake?" Harley asked me.

"No, but it doesn't mean I can't learn," I answered.

"Okay, so you bake a cake and poison the girl. Not only are you single, but you kill an innocent person," Harley commented.

I looked at Harley incredulously.

"Ah, hell, we need reinforcements, or we'll stand here arguing about cake," Kaden said, pulling out his phone.

"Who are you calling?" I questioned.

"Hi, Grandpa. Yeah, I'm good, but I need your help," Kaden said, walking away.

"Wait. Is Kaden calling his Grandpa Cole, who has many tattoos and can beat the living pulp out of people?" I asked Harley, watching Kaden.

"Well, Cole knows how to bake, and I'm sure he'll call his sister. Yeah, you're screwed," Harley remarked.

I sighed because I'm sure Kaden's family won't like me. Kaden ended the call and walked back over to me.

"We're going shopping and getting company. Don't burn down our dorm room," Kaden ordered.

Great, now I get to deal with Amelia's family and learn how to make a cake.

Amelia

After spending time with Meadow and Emily, I went back to my dorm room. I entered to see my parents waiting for me.

"How did you get into my room?" I asked.

"Emily, let us in before she left," Dad answered.

I looked at my parents, curiously.

"It seems someone is using their disability to their advantage," Mom mentioned as my dad gave me a knowing look.

I looked at my parents and sighed.

"Amelia, no one knows you have autism until you tell them. We spent many years making sure people didn't treat you differently. Why the change?" My mom asked me.
