Unexpected Visitor

2 Months Later

It's been 2 full months since the birth of Cora and Nate's first child, James, and they both were the happiest couple in the world right now. Cora was still home to take care of their child, while Nate worked during the day. Every night they would have dinner and then go to sleep with happy faces on them.

This continued for a while until, one day, someone knocked on their door, someone that Cora hadn't seen for almost a year now. It was Jason Richards, Cora's older brother that wasn't very found of Nate. Jason always hated Nate, ever since Cora introduced them to each other while she was pregnant. Now she was very surprised to see him here. Cora recovered from the shock and said to her brother "What are you doing here?!!" she was furious with him for the things he said to her a year ago.

Flashback ( a year earlier)

 Cora had just arrived at her brothers house in another town far from her own. She was with Nate and she was almost 6 months pregnant. But she had Nate's sweatshirt so you couldn't seen much of her baby bump.

She knocked on her brothers door, a minute after he answered. "Cora... haven't seen you in a while! How are you little sister?" he was very happy to seen his sister. After their parents passing she was everything he had left.

"Hi Jason...I came here to present to you my boyfriend, Nate!" she just hoped her brother wouldn't flip when she tells him she's pregnant. "WHAT????" Jason was shocked, his little sister had gotten herself a boyfriend without his permission!!

"Jason I know what you're gonna say 'I deserve better and blah blah blah' but I don't care and we are gonna have a child soon... because I'm six almost months pregnant. So you better get used to it because you're gonna see Nate a lot more from now on."  

"Cora are you mad?? You're 20 years old, and you're not even aloud to have a boyfriend much less be pregnant with his baby!!!" he yelled at her face. Nate has had enough of this he pulled Cora behind him (carefully because of the baby) and began defending his girlfriend "You're supposed to be her big brother and support her, not yell in her face and say those things to her. And stress isn't good for the baby so I suggest you low your voice while talking to her." Nate said as calmly as he could, it was difficult with all the anger boiling inside him 'how dare he talk to my girl like that' he thought.

"well for all I care that baby could die because I don't give a damn about you or this baby. And you Cora, from this moment on you're no longer my sister!!" he yelled to them and closed the door in their faces.

When they got home Nate scooped Cora in his arms, and took her to their bedroom, that night, Cora fell asleep in Nate's arms, crying and thinking of all the words her own brother had said to her and how much they'd hurt her.

Flashback End

Jason opened his mouth to apologise but she cut him off "I hate you!! You have no right to be here right now!!" she yelled "Cora I'm so sorry I don't know what came over me that day. I got fired the same day and my girlfriend broke up with me ." Cora got even madder "That's no excuse for what you said to me that day!! You can say sorry all you want but I'm never gonna forget you wished my baby would die!!" Nate heard the yelling and came up to the front door to see what was going on. 

He reached the door just to see his girlfriend and her brother yelling at each other. He pulled Cora behind him and said "Are you here to bring more trouble? Don't you think you've done enough to her?" he said trying to control himself.

"Hey man, I was just trying to apologise to my sister." Jason said. "Last time you said I wasn't your sister anymore so for me you're a stranger!" Cora said very pissed off. "Baby, go see if James is alright. I'll talk to him and then we will all talk when James is asleep, is that alright?" ate said to Cora. "Yeah that's alright." she glared one more time at Jason and got inside to take care of her son.

Nate cleared his throat and said "So tell me, are you really here to apologise and resolve things with her?" he asked very seriously. "Yeah I am. I'm really sorry for saying those things to her, I just wanna hug her and possibly see my nephew if both of you are okay with it of course." Nate said " For me you can see him  but Cora's a little bit different, you know?" " Yes I know she's always been like this when she's mad at someone" responded Jason. Nate said at last "Ok let's do it like this, you come in and have lunch with us, talk to her but just about things like work and ask just about how she's doing to start. She's going to warm up to you and after lunch you apologise to her and if she accepts it, she'll probably let you play with James a little." "Thanks man, I guess you're not so bad after all. If you two ever get married, you have my blessing." Jason said. Jason gave a pat on Nate's shoulder and went inside. And that's when Nate thought 'everything's falling into place finally, but still we need to see if Cora is gonna accept Jason 's apology'.

After lunch, Cora and Jason sat on her couch in the living room while Nate went to play with James in his and Cora's room. 

Jason started talking "Cora I'm so sorry for saying those awful things to you and I would never wish for your baby to die I swear. I just want us to be a family again" Cora opened her mouth to say something but Jason continued, "And before you say anything I totally support your relationship with Nate and I hope someday you two will get married. Also hope you'll let me see James someday." Cora's mouth fell opened at this and after a few minutes of shocking she said something that made Jason cry and also see his little sister wasn't so little anymore. "I know how hard it is for you to admit you're wrong, and I also know that for you to let me date Nate mush less marry him you're definitely telling the truth so I forgive you and you can see James whenever you want." They hug each other and soon they were all playing with James in his room, as the happy family they have wished they'd be for a while now.
