(F/N) POV)
"(F/N)!!!!"
A voice echoed down the halls of the school. I turned around to find Kimi running towards me. She stopped right before she could run into me, catching her breath.
"Take a breath." I said, "What's going on?"
She smiled, her eyes shining, "We got the schedule for regionals!"
My eyes widened, "We did? When and where are we racing?" Kimi smiled, "We're racing in the largest pool in Hyogo, but we don't have race times yet. In two weeks, on Saturday. We're in the relay on Sunday, but otherwise we all swim Saturday."
I frowned, "So what about the 500 and the 1000?"
Kimi looked down, "Well, we both qualified for those, so we both swim them at regionals. We can drop them for nationals, though. Only if we want to, we have the choice."
I smirked, "Can you imagine the face on Sakura's sister if I win the 100 at nationals?"
Kimi smiled, "I think she'd kill you!" "Nah," I patted Kimi's shoulder, "She doesn't have the guts to. See you at lunch, Kimi!" I walked past her to my classroom, unaware of the bombard of questions I'd get.
As soon as I opened the door, Atsumu's fans ran up to me.
"Did you really go on a date with him?"
"Do you guys actually live near each other?"
"You're totally sleeping with him, aren't you?"
I gave an unamused look, "No, yes, and definitely not. Can I go to my seat now or are you guys going to keep me here?"
They stayed silent and I pushed my way through the crowd, finally sitting down at my seat. Mika leaned forward, "So, did you go on a date with him or no?"
I shook my head, "No, I didn't. Why is everyone saying that?" Mika frowned, "Um, well, apparently Sakura's sister saw you at the mall with him and Hina yesterday and now she's going around telling everyone you're sleeping together. So, um, now you're dead to almost every single girl in school."
I sighed, "Good to know."
Mika poked my back, "You didn't deny you're sleeping with him, though~" She cooed. I turned around and stuck my tongue out at her, "Hell no! I'd never sleep with him!"
Then, the guy in question walked through the door with Hitoshi. Atsumu waved to his fans and sat down in his seat. He placed a hand on my desk, "So, I'm sure you heard." I groaned and nodded, Atsumu continuing, "So, um, now what?"
I shook my head, "No idea. We're not dating so there's no need to really panic about anything, except for me possibly getting beat up. Not like I can't defend myself though."
He smiled, "You, (F/N), are the definition of badass."
I flipped my hair, "I try to be."
Hitoshi faked a gag, "You two need to get a room." Mika nodded, "Yeah, start dating for real already!"
A blush made it's way onto my face as I glared at Hitoshi and Mika. Atsumu's face had a ligh dusting of pink across it as he spoke, "If we do, then Mika has to finally date Suna, and Gin had better go out with Emiko!"
I nodded, "Yeah, we've seen the way you two stare at them!"
Leaving them speechless, Atsumu and I smiled to one another as Sensei walked in.
(Time Skip)
At lunch, I got a text from Akira.
Food Brother 12:21 pm
Tell your friends that I may need their help this weekend.Food Brother sent a location
I sighed as I sat down at the table, "Hey guys, Akira might need help this weekend with the renovations. I'll send you all the location."
The third years nodded as I forwarded the location to them. Then, Akagi-san brought up the rumors, "So, (F/N)-chan we heard you're dating our setter~" I sighed, "I am NOT, but thanks for your concern, Akagi-san."
He smirked, "Okay, but we all know you want to date Atsumu, just admit it."
I shook my head, "No, I don't. But again, thanks for your concern."
I remembered my though from last night about maybe wanting to date Atsumu, but I'd never let anyone know that thought crossed my mind.
The bell rang as we finished up our lunches and we headed back to our classrooms.
(Time Skip)
I sighed as I tightened my goggles. Emiko poked my side, "What's got you so down today?"
I shook my head, "Nothing. Let's get to swimming already, okay?"
After we stretched, I got up to the starting block and quickly dove into the water. While I was swimming, I started to think.
What if I do get ganged up on and beat up? What if I can't defend myself? What happens if I lose in the 1000 at regionals? Will Atsumu stop hanging out with me? Wait, why do I care? I don't like him like that. At least, I think. I mean, he's always there for me when I need him, whenever I'm hurt or upset. Why is that?
After a few laps, I got out to take a sip of water from my bottle. Kimi walked up to me as soon as she was done with her warm-up, "Are you still thinking about what Sakura's sister said?"
I nodded, "Yeah, maybe."
Kimi smiled softly, "You know, if you're still thinking about it, maybe that means you do have feelings for him. Not platonic, but romantic. (F/N), I've known you for years now and I know when you're unsure of things. But this is one thing you should be certain about already. Just make the right choice."
She walked away saying nothing else. I looked down, make the right choice about what?
After we practiced our exchanges for our relay, finally getting the perfect timing. Practice was over as soon as we found out that we broke our record from last time. I left with my relay team, putting my goggles in my bag and taking my swim cap off.
I decided that I wasn't going to let the rumors get to me and that I would brush off any comments. I mean, I was only friends with him so I shouldn't think about it.
That night, I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. I was exhausted, mainly from thinking so much today.
