AMARA KNEW THAT it was going to be a long journey to Hogwarts and so she hoped to get in some sleep, knowing that she didn't sleep very well last night, she didn't know what it was but she had a feeling that everything was going to change and it kept her up most of the night until she fell asleep from pure exhaustion
She didn't want anything to change, she liked everything just the way it was
But it appeared as the compartment door slid open and in walked the youngest member of the Black Family walked in his black hair immaculately combed to the crown of his head. Even for a third year he was quite tall and had a few muscles on his arms although he wasn't as muscular as his brother or James Potter
They were two complete idiots but they weren't bad to look at
Without a word, Regulas sat down in the seat opposite the brown-haired girl with a frown tugging at his lips and instantly Amara knew that something was wrong. It was like when her brother would come into her room late at night and curl up next to her and the two would sleep next to each other throughout the night, only to return to his own room at dawn so that Cora didn't find out
"What's wrong Reg?" Amara asked, tilting her head to the side
"Sirius got disowned over the summer, my parents are furious they've already burnt his face off the family tapestry and I've been told never to ignore him and never speak to him again, but out of all the reckless things he's done he's still my brother and when he walked out on mum and dad, it also felt like he was walking out on me and I know it's the honourable thing to do but how am I supposed to ignore my own brother?"
"Look we live in a world as Purebloods that we have to do whatever is expected of us and sometimes we don't want to do what is expected of us, merlin knows that I didn't like it when my brother walked in my family's footsteps and it eventually got him killed, but I suppose that's the price that we have to pay if we want a world that we wanted to live within," Amara told the youngest son in the Black household, memories of finding out that her brother was dead but she forces them back down
She didn't want to think about it
"You're right. My brother made his choice, now I must make mine and uphold the family values, we're both going to make our families proud. When I graduate Hogwarts you will become my wife and bear my children who will uphold our families legacy"
There was a twisting in her gut something telling her that she didn't want her life planned out to the day she died, the idea of having child terrified her having to look after a living breathing creature for the first eighteen years of their life or possibly even longer but she didn't know whether she even wanted one but as she had been taught it wasn't what she wanted...It was what her husband wanted
"Yeah, but let's get our N.E.W.T.S first!" Amara smiled a nervous smile
"Obviously," Regulus says, rolling his dark eyes "Look I maybe two years younger than you and we may be getting married young and we'll be following in our families footsteps but I want to make you feel comfortable and make sure you are happy with your future with me"
"I know Reg," I tell him softly
Regulus takes Amara's hand and rubs circles into the back of her skin and Amara closed her eyes, tears streaming down her cheeks, she didn't know why she was crying she just knew everything was overwhelming and she didn't know what to do however Regulus reached into Amara's robes pocket and pulled out a packet of Love Hearts fumbling to get the wrapper off and pull out a Love Heart causing Amara to laugh
"Eat. You'll feel better although I don't really know why you like these sweets. You know their muggle sweet right?" Regulus told her, giving her the sweet and Amara popped it into her mouth, the sweet melting on her tongue
"Yeah but they're the only muggle things I have and my parent's don't even know I have them. I hate muggles but this is the only thing I like that they've made that we don't have in the Wizarding World?" Amara commented with a shrug and Regulus laughed at her next sentence as she dropped her voice to a whisper "If we win this War and the Dark Lord takes over, which I'm sure he will, I'm going to ask him to keep the Love Hearts because they're just the best thing ever"
"I'll tell the Dark Lord when I'm allowed in on the meetings"
"You're not a Death Eater yet, are you?" Amara asked in a hushed and quick whisper, she wouldn't normally talk about things like this so openly, she had been told to hide her views about the world and the Wizarding World so that she didn't get in trouble for anyone. But this was important and Regulas was going to be her future husband so she needed to know everything about him, after all, she was supposed to be a dutiful wife
"No mother and father want me to focus on my studies or at least get my O.W.L's before I join his ranks" Regulas whispered back, with a small proud smile on his face and why wouldn't he? He was going to please his parents and become a loyal and hardworking husband ranking in a lot of wealth so they can live a long and comfortable wife while working under the Dark Lord
"Okay" Amara smiles shakily keeping the flashbacks of seeing her dead brother looking lifelessly up at the sky , his skull cracked in and a pool of blood surrounding his head, at bay "If that's what you want then I will support you"
