The day went by fast. Chris was defiantly mad at me and didn't sit next to me in any classes. Alex avoided me and ditched every class. I ignored everyone and fought up on my work. At lunch Max sat next to me and We talked about hanging out after school. When the bell rang for dismissal I was ecstatic.
I nearly ran to the bus. I really wanted to get home. It was absolutely freezing and I was so tired. I took the same seat I had this morning. I saw Chris get on. She rolled her bright green eyes at me and sighed. Her and Max sat in front of me. Anna and Caroline sat in front of them. When I saw Alex get on the bus my hear sped up a little. He took a seat behind me.
I was gazing out the window when I felt someone sit down next to me. When I looked over I saw Alex's blue eyes looking at me.
"Hey," He said looking down.
"Hey," I said confused.
We sat in silence for a minute until he blurted out, "I'm sorry."
"It's ok."
"No. You were just trying to be nice. I..." He drifted off and looked the other way.
"You what?" I asked, curious.
"I push people away."
"Me too."
He turned toward me confused.
"But you became friends with us quickly."
"Yeah, I'm trying to change."
"Oh."
"Yeah."
He turned his attention to the window and so did I. I listened to the sound of the engine and the sound of Chris and Max giggling fir the rest of the ride home.
When the bus stopped at our stop, We all got off. Max and Chris walked by each other. They were both still giggling when I saw Max grab her hand. Something inside of me broke. I was confused. But I did not have the right to be Jealous.
He leaned in close and whispered something to her. She giggled and kissed his cheek. We went at the stop sign we're everyone separated when Max grabbed Chris by the waist and whispered something. Then she stood on her tip toes and planted a small kiss on his lips. I had no idea how to feel at that moment. When he let go of her he started walking toward me and Alex.
Alex sighed in disgust when he reached us.
"Hey Julep. Hey Alex."
Neither of us replied. Max was walking next to me and Alex trailed behind.
"Are you guys okay?" Max asked confused. I nodded and shot him a fake smile. He returned it.
About halfway home I felt his hand slip into mine. I Immediately pulled away.
He paused. I kept walking. He jogged to catch up with me.
"Did I do something wrong?" He asked. I wanted to slap him. You don't just kiss one girl and hold another girl's Hand.
"No. Why would you think that," I asked with a condescending smile.
"You won't hold my hand."
"Holding hands is something you and your girlfriend do. Or something you do with the girl you like."
"Yeah, I know that's why I hold your hand." We were standing in front of my house when he wrapped his arms around my waist.
"Max, Let go of me."
"Go out with me." He said.
"Are you kidding?" I was struggling to get out if his arms but he had an iron grip.
