Griffin's P.O.V
Earlier I had been stressing over the work interview I was supposed to be attending a day after I arrived in London but I didn't think there was much point in that now since I was most likely about to die.The plane was headed towards the water at an alarming rate and if that didn't kill me I'd probably just drown in the water. I know I wasn't being incredibly positive but there isn't much light to see when the plane you're on has just been struck by lightning three times.
The two people either side of me both looked terrified, maybe even more than me. The one to my left had previously been about to fall asleep but now he looked completely paralysed with fear. The boy to my left was frozen looking out the window at the rapidly approaching waves.
I closed my eyes and braced for impact, silently saying goodbye to everyone I've ever loved and who has loved me.
The plane hurtled through the air for another agonising few moments before the nose of the plane hit the water at full force and my body lurched foreword. My seatbelt dug into my waist because I had tightened it to the tightest I could get it but the guy to my right mustn't have done that because his head collided with the seat with a sickening crack. The other kid had had his head in his hands so he was okay for now.
I was honestly surprised I hadn't blacked out but I couldn't say the same for a lot of the people around me. I couldn't even see into the front end of the plane because the lightning had taken out the front of the planes lighting earlier.
The plane was slowly beginning to sink into the stormy waves and I felt the icy cold water lap at my feet from where it had flooded in from the damage done to the plane.
I was lucky to still be alive or at least conscious and it gave me a sudden spurt of energy and I realised I had to get out of the plane before it sunk into the water. Many of the people around me who had only suffered small injuries where screaming and trying to climb over each other to get out of the plane.
I struggled to get my seatbelt off with my shaking hands but I finally succeeded and immediately turned to the guy who's head had hit the seat in front if him. There was a nasty cut in his forehead and he was completely unconscious but I decided I wasn't going to leave him even if I didn't know him I had enough energy to save at least one other person. The other kid on the aisle seat was still conscious so after undoing the unconscious guys seatbelt I turned to him.
"Hey can you hear me?" I asked him and he looked at me.
"My ears are ringing." He mumbled as tears gleamed in his eyes.
"I know I know but I need you to try and get out of the plane okay? I'll help you but we gotta go." I said and he nodded shakily before unbuckling his seat belt with slight difficulty. He stood up and moved into the aisle but before I could grab him he was swept away by the other panicked people and I cursed. The last I saw of him was his wide eyes looking back at me in fear.
I didn't have much time since the water was almost at my knees so I turned back to the other guy and attempted to pull him out of his seat. I looked up and contemplated over how I was supposed to get him out with me. There were people climbing over chairs and other people in a rushed attempt to get out. I wished I could have helped more of them but I knew I wouldn't have enough energy to swim with them.
Suddenly the plane creaked dangerously and a large amount of water flooded in along with the freezing cold water that was already there. It was now at waist level and I realised I had to get moving and fast.
With a sudden last thought I grabbed both the life jackets and pulled mine over my head before trying to put it on the unconscious stranger beside me. I then pulled him after me towards the plane exit. The water made it slightly easier to lift him since he wasn't exactly the lightest person.
