『 fourteen. OLD SCHOOL LIKE ROGERS 』

TO BE HONEST, HALLIE WAS STILL WONDERING WHY SHD WAS THERE. After being attacked for the first time in nearly two years, all she wanted to do was go home and check on Harley. Stay out of it like she should've two years ago. Things went so badly wrong when she stuck her nose into places she shouldn't, and that would happen again. However, as much as she told herself to run and get away from there, another part of her felt like that was exactly where she belonged. Where she needed to be. In a room full of extraordinary humans who just want to save the world.

Hallie leaned against a counter, still holding her side even though it had finished revealing a few minutes ago, but there was still a dull ache. Surprisingly she had yet to contact Harley to check up on him. She listened to the group as they stood around, still trying to find out what exactly Ultron had managed to do in the short time that it was alive. All they were receiving was bad news and had yet to hear from Thor who went out to find the scepter.

"All our work is gone." Bruce said as he looked at the computer, only to find nothing. Hallie could hear disbelief in his voice, as though he was still realizing what was happening. "Ultron cleared out, used the internet as an escape hatch."

"He's been in everything. Files, surveillance." Natasha said, looking just as said as everyone else and she glanced around before saying, "Probably knows more about us than we know about each other." From her words Hallie got an uneasy feeling in her chest as she processed what it meant.

Rhodey stood up, taking part in the discussion while holding his shoulder from the fall. "He's in your files, he's in the internet. What if he decides to access something a little more exciting?" He asks.

Realizing what he was hinting at, both Maria and Hallie simultaneously said, "Nuclear codes." Causing them to glance at each other before turning back to Rhodey.

"Nuclear codes." He confirmed. "Look, we need to make some calls, assuming we still can." Rhodey advised and Hallie looked down, suddenly very concerned about Harley. She needed to call him after they figured out a plan. They. No, the heroes, the Avengers figured out a plan. She wasn't an Avenger and she shouldn't even be here. She should be looking after Harley, not listening to them talk about homicidal robots that could potentially destroy the world. So why was she here?

"Nukes? He said he wanted us dead." Natasha argues.

Steve, who was crossing his arms looking extremely disappointed and thoughtful at the same time amended, "He didn't say dead. He said extinct." Hallie gulped at the thought, once again wishing she was anywhere but there.
