Hours of putting on makeup and dressing up in the prettiest dress were wasted. Y/N could be in the other room, dancing slowly with her boyfriend- But no. He broke her heart into two pieces before the slow dance began. Now she sits in an empty, dark room crying. She could hear the faint sound of thunder and the sound of rain tapping the window, which was the only source of light. Y/N wondered how she didn't see her ex's behavior until now and it was killing her. Tears trickled down her soft, flushed, mascara stained cheeks as she laid her head against the wall, listening to the music a room over.

The empty room filled with her sobs once again and she felt like the only person in the world. What she didn't know was that a certain bird-brain was outside the door reciting what he should say to her.
"Screw it" He whispered to himself and opened the door.
His eyes landed on Y/N, his feathers falling down to his sides.
"H-Hawks..?" She mumbled in between sobs.
"Oh baby bird...Come here."
He closed the door and got on the floor with her, wrapping her in his silky feathers. She didn't have to tell him what happened, because he saw it all go down. His friends had to hold him back from going after her ex and bashing his face in. He began to run his fingers through her hair.
"It's alright, kid..I'm here now. You're alright." He cooed.
Y/N wrapped her arms around his waist and buried her face into his chest. She could smell his cologne and it sent chills down her spine. Hawks always knew how to get dressed up- for any occasion.
"Hawks-"
"Shhh...Don't speak, kid. Just take a deep breath and let me hold you."
Y/N began to feel a warm feeling overcome her. Hawks had never shown this kind of affection towards her. She loved being close to him, embraced by his wings. She felt...safe. He then started to hum along with the song, slowly rocking her back and forth, rubbing her back. Man he was loving this closeness and oh how he wished that it would never end. He wanted to be the one she loves and he would make sure that that would happen. Hawks loved Y/N and he had always loved her. Of course, he never told her about his feelings because she was dating so many other guys. Maybe he had a chance at this moment.
"Kid...I need to tell you something."
"Hm?"
"I...." He paused, looking for the right words to say.
"What is it, Keigo?"
He looked over her, his heart skipping a beat. She looked amazing in that dress. He didn't care that her makeup was ruined. She was still just as stunning.
"I-I'm in love with you."
The room fell silent, Y/N looking up at him with wide eyes.
"Say something, kid...Please." He said, laughing nervously.
Y/N looked down, her heart running a marathon. She looked back up at him, staring into his mesmerizing eyes. He really was handsome and definitely got all the girls attention. All these years and he never said anything?
"Why..?" She said suddenly.
It took Hawks back a little, but he smiled softly and cupped her cheek.
"Y/N...You're so beautiful and the way you go about things is just so...attractive. Everything you do grabs my attention, baby bird. I want to be the one you love...I will protect you from any obstacle that comes your way.."
Her e/c eyes softened and tears built up once again. Thankfully, he wiped them away quickly.
"Keigo...I love you."
Those words rung in his ears like music. She finally said the words he yearned to hear from her for years. He cupped her other cheek and pressed his lips onto hers.
*key change*
