Seunghwan’s POV
Today was rough. All I wanted was to get home, hopefully to find Yoojin already asleep after dinner. As I left school, I spotted Sangmin waiting by the gate, looking impatient."What took you so long, hyung?" he called out as I walked up.
"Sorry, student council stuff. We’re having some issues planning the school fair this year, so we’re cutting it down to four days instead of six," I explained, rolling my shoulders to ease the tension. "And that’s on top of exams coming up."
Sangmin huffed, shaking his head. "Well, let’s go. We can’t just stand around talking all night," he said, grabbing my arm and tugging with more force than necessary.
"Whoa, okay! You don’t have to drag me, geez." I stumbled slightly, giving him a look.
As we walked, Sangmin glanced at me, curiosity flickering in his eyes. "So, who’s watching Yoojin tonight?"
"I asked Jinseok to look after her," I replied, shrugging.
"Ah," he said, nodding thoughtfully.
When we finally got home, we were surprised to find Jinseok still there, waiting outside the front door, looking awkward as always.
"Jinseok!" Sangmin exclaimed, eyebrows raised. "I thought you’d already gone home."
Jinseok shifted, clearly uncomfortable. "Y-you... asked me to stay... with Yoojin... It felt wrong to leave her... alone..." His words came out stuttered, his gaze darting around nervously.
A small smack on the back of Sangmin’s head echoed through the night.
"Hyung!" Sangmin yelped, rubbing his head. "What was that for?"
"For being an idiot," I said, half-amused, half-annoyed. "Jinseok’s been helping with Yoojin since elementary school. He wouldn’t just leave her alone."
"Right, sorry, Jinseok," Sangmin muttered, sheepishly looking down.
I turned to Jinseok, patting his shoulder. "It’s getting late, Jinseok. Have you called your parents? Why don’t you stay the night? We’ve got the guest room free."
Before Jinseok could answer, his phone rang. He fumbled it out, glancing at us apologetically before answering.
"Hello... Mum."
"Are you still at the Lees’?"
"Yes, mum... I’m still here."
"Good. Stay there tonight, Jinseok. It’s too late to come home. I’d be worried if you traveled this late."
He murmured a quick, "Okay, Mum," then added, "Love you."
Once he hung up, he looked up at us, his cheeks slightly pink. "Mum says... I can stay... and she invited you all for breakfast tomorrow."
"Sangmin," I nudged him, "go find an extra towel and some pajamas that’ll fit Jinseok, alright?"
Sangmin saluted. "On it, hyung!"

Author's POV
The four of them had dinner together, a comfortable silence falling over the table as they ate. Soon after, they tidied up and headed off to bed, the house quieting until all that was left was the faint ticking of the hallway clock.---
Yoojin’s POV
In my dream, soft, delicate piano notes began to play, drifting around me like a lullaby. Then came a voice—soft and sweet, like honey—singing words I couldn’t quite make out. It felt like it was calling to me, warm but mysterious, as if trying to pull me closer. The dark around me felt familiar, but tonight it was deeper, thicker. I remembered Byeonghee saying maybe I'd find a clue in my dreams. I didn’t know why, but I felt an urge to search, to find the person behind the voice.
“Who’s there?” I called out, voice trembling. “Why are you always singing in my dreams?”
The voice responded, floating gently through the dark. "Yoojin-ah… goodnight and sweet dreams."
Something about the way it said my name sent a chill through me. "Please, come out and show yourself!" I called, backing away instinctively, my hands clutching at the empty air. "Why do you keep showing up in my dreams? Who… who are you?"
"I’m someone who’s always been with you. Since you were born," the voice answered softly, laced with something almost sad. "I’ve taken care of you all your life… don’t you remember me?"
My chest tightened. "No, I… I don’t remember!" Tears pricked at my eyes. "I’m scared! Please, just… please show yourself!"
The voice paused, as if considering my words. "One day, when you remember… I’ll be there, Yoojin-ah. I’ll always be with you."
"Wait! Please don’t go," I begged, tears slipping down my cheeks. "Please… don’t leave me alone."
But there was no reply. Only silence, stretching out until I couldn’t bear it. I woke up with a start, the echo of the voice still lingering in my ears, my throat tight with fear. I threw the covers back, slipped out of bed, and quietly made my way to the kitchen.
As I walked down the hallway, a figure emerged from the guest room. I froze, startled, but quickly realized it was Jinseok. He looked at me, calm and gentle.
"Yoojin…" His voice was soft, gentle, somehow grounding.
"Sunbae," I whispered, relieved. "Did you want some water too?"
He nodded, and we went to the kitchen together. As I poured two glasses, I felt his hand gently rest on my head, patting softly. Surprised, I looked up, but his expression was calm, a rare warmth in his usually shy gaze.
“Everything’s going to be alright,” he murmured, his words strangely clear and assured, as though he knew something I didn’t. He gave me a small nod before quietly returning to the guest room.
I stood there, my heart still racing from the dream. The voice in my dream and Jinseok’s voice—they were so similar. But… could it really have been him?
