Niall
I heard my alarm blare through my bedroom. Monday. I dreaded Monday's.
I dreaded them even more when I had to go back to school after summer break on a Monday. My mom had successfully dragged all of us on a last minute vacation for the last week of summer, so I had no mental preparing to do for school to start.
This was my senior year. I can't believe I'm almost 18 and I've never had a real high school experience. No parties, no going to games, no boyfriend. It's like every movie I've seen has lied to me, when is it my turn?
I didn't even look at myself in the mirror as I entered my bathroom, getting my shower ready. As I peeled off my clothes I slept in, I decided to finally look in the mirror. Ouch, bad idea. I looked like I just crawled out of a hole I'd been buried in for my entire life. Shaking off the feeling of hatred towards my appearance, I stepped under the warm water coming from the shower head. It didn't take me long to shower and get myself ready for school, and now I looked presentable to the public.
—I rushed downstairs to find my mom eating some toast and reading one of her new books she's been raving about.
"Good morning Niall, don't you look so handsome for your first day!" She cheered and sprang up, pulling me in for a hug.
"Agh ma, I love you but you're gonna ruin my hair" I groaned, followed by a chuckle to let her know I was being playful.
"Oh now you hush. I can't believe my baby is a senior" her eyes welled up.
"Mom, no. Don't cry. You'll make me cry!" I hugged her gently "it's okay, do you wanna take our picture now?"
She nodded her head and I pulled out my phone. Every year on my first day since preschool, my mom and I have taken a photo together. Years back it included my father, but he passed a few years ago.
I smiled at the selfie we took and kissed my moms cheek gently before checking the time
"Ah! I'm gonna be late, I'll see you after school ma!" I grabbed my bag and sprinted out the door.
—The walk to school was rather nice. The sun was up early because it was still summer, so it was warm. It took me less than 10 minutes to get to school. I lived rather close
As I walked onto the campus, a big black Range Rover almost wipes me out by driving fast past me.
"Jesus Christ" I grumbled. I knew who owned the car, and I had no intention of calling him out for nearly hitting me.
"Hey Niall! You good?" I heard Louis' voice calling towards me
Louis was my one, and only, friend. We were like brothers.
"Yeah Im fine, fucking styles" I groaned "who does he think he is? waltzing around like he owns this fucking school"
"The football captain" Louis teased with a small scoff "Teachers dont want to ruin our footie season, so they let him get away with everything"
"It's so unfair. He does nothing and gets everything handed to him." I complained as I walked into the school. Louis followed me to my locker as I complained about how lucky Harry was. Once I had retrieved the stuff I needed for class, Louis had already been long gone to his locker. I was left alone to my thoughts and I didn't like that, so instead I put some headphones in.
As I was walking towards my first class I bump into someone, knocking both of our things all over the hallway floor.
"GOD DAMN IT" I heard his voice groan.
It was Harry."Jesus Christ, I'm sorry" I apologized, more scared of if he'd punch me or not. I helped pick up his stuff before going for mine.
"Watch where you're walking. And don't touch my shit" he growled, snatching the notebook I'd picked up for him out of my hands. I just watched as he stormed away to wherever he was going, before I picked up all of my books and ran to first period.
