That did it.

Chika scurried away from him and shot up to his feet. He was pissed, exhausted, and heavily wary. With hooded lids still not clear from sleep,he eyed the man who looked anything but serious. Amused, even.

Being part of the moon-splashed environment,Chika could now see the features of the man vividly. His soothing feminine voice was a matching comparison to his face. He had no beard whatsoever or prominent features to claim his masculinity except for the slightly indented jaw. He looked beautiful. Almost serene if not for the impish smile on his face.

Chika almost felt bad for what he was about to do next. And had to repeat in his head that he was being harassed. Well, technically.

The devil was an angel, wasn't he?

With that thought,he closed his eyes and launched himself at the shocked stranger with a wild roar. He swung his fist blindly at the man with so much kforce,he heard his bone pop. His fist connected with air and he vaguely felt himself falling to the ground when a strong arm gripped his waist in place.

Chika rubbed his eyes to find the stranger peering curiously at him.

"Are you alright?" He questioned.

The alluring smell of his cologne wafted past his nose and he inhaled deeply in reply. The strangers feminine face was illuminated by the moonlight and he could how clearly see the kindness and welcoming love radiating from him. He could feel himself drowning in his warmth and he blamed it all in his sleep deprived state.

How funny, he thought, that All he had wanted to do was run away from this man. But now...

Chika's senses kick started at that and he pushed himself away from the man's gentle grip. These change in reaction to him was too quick. Too sudden. The aura of camaraderie surrounding him considering his previous reaction  was too suspicious.

Chika's eyed the man warily. He was exhausted. Too exhausted to be dealing with this right now. "Who are you? And why are you following me?"

The man-who looked too girlish to be one-pouted. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you."

"You're a man, yes. What else?" He bit sarcastically.

Instead of answering,he walked the few inches to the tree and slumped at the foot of it. He patted his side and offered a smile to Kyle."Come sit." And added hastily," I mean you no harm."

And Chika believed. Wholeheartedly. It shocked him that he did. He didn't know this man from Adam yet his unfounded trust in him was too huge to be true. He didn't even know his name.

Chika shifted his weight from one foot to the other and sighed. He trudged over to where his evening companion was and sat a good spaces from him.

Safety first.

The man grinned victoriously showing off pearly white teeth. "See? That wasn't so hard."

Chika rolled his eyes. "Well, since you're so desperate,I think I can spare some few minutes."

Truth was,he needed his company as much as he did.

The stranger let out a small laugh. that sent comforting ripples through him. For the next minute,no one said anything and the silence unnerved Chika. He stole a glance at the stranger who sent him a knowing smile. And a wink.

Chika gritted his teeth. He was going to have take the first initiative. "So what's your name? I keep referring to you as a stranger in my head."

"Kyle",he answered easily,beaming. "It's Kyle."

Chika slapped his forehead and exclaimed. "That's even stranger."

Kyle shrugged dismissively and cooed "What's your name?"

"Chika." He murmured.

Kyle cupped his ear and teased. "I can't hear youuuu."

"Sure you didn't." Chika said blandly.

"Chika, hmmm. That's a strange name." He reiterated mockingly, thoughtfully.

Chika rolled his eyes at the man's antics and said offhandedly. "It's pretty common." From the corner of his eyes,he could see Kyle shifting closer.

He wasn't entirely comfortable. They had crossed the name basics but that was it.

So he blurted out the question that had been biting him. " What were you doing with a dead rat?" He decided not to add the levitating part,it may have been in his head.

Kyle paused. Solemnly,he answered. " I thought I could heal it."

Chika eyed him. Kyle looked extremely sincere. He sighed. Was he dealing with a mental institute run away?

"Why me then? I don't look friendly,do I?"

Kyle bent his head to the side in question. " What do you mean 'why me'?"

"Earlier you said you needed someone to talk to."

"Oh! Right. " His playful expression gradually faded. "Work stresses me out these days."

Chika watched Kyle toy with his fingers and studied his expression. He knew that look. It felt too familiar.

Pushing aside his empathy,he demanded. "What job?"

Snapping out of his trance,he smiled down at Chika. "Ah,it's a very important job. Say, I'm 20 and you're..."

Chika gritted his teeth in frustration. He was clearly avoiding his question making it more suspicious. He answered anyway. "17."

Kyle hummed.

They stayed in silence for a few minutes when Chika decided to try again.

"What..."

"So are we friends?" Kyle asked with delightful expectation, looking like a child receiving a present. "So are we friends?"

Chika paused, resisting the urge to throw himself on the ground and cry out.  Moreover,he appeared to be talking through his nose. "Yeah sure. Whatever."

"Great." He beamed. He stretched out his hand to Chika for a handshake.

Chika was just about to shake him when he remembered the dead rat and recoiled. He affirmed dismissively, looking away from Kyle's crestfallen face. " We're friends. No matter."

Deciding to try again,he started. "What..."

"I'm a fairy godmother."
