Fields stretched as far as the eye could see, rolling hills accompanied those fields making it seem as though they were golden and green waves rolling in the ocean. Sunlight filtered through the tree leaves that lined our driveway and pastor, And the gravel crunched underfoot when someone would walk by the front of our house. A large oak sat in the yard and under it sat 3 swings each occupied by a body of a child no older than 14 enjoying the sweet nothings of summer and letting the tree shade them from the afternoon sun.

The barking of dogs and calling of rosters filter through their ears as they watched the tractor slowly make its rounds across the field in front of them, enjoying each other's company and talking about the summer that stretched before them full of laughter and fun, swimming in the pond to cool off and ridding the 4-wellers string up dust in their wake. They were in no hurry, for summer had just started and they were in no rush, so they swung in their hammock and laughed together and enjoyed each other's presence.

These are the days I look back on now and wish I could go back to. Days when the only thing mattered was if my two best friends could stay the night begging our parents again and again till it seemed like they lived here because they never left. Racing each other across the lawn rolling and giggling when we caught up to one another. Causing a ruckus in the hay and chasing the chickens and ignoring the world outside the farm for nothing else mattered except right then and there.

But all good things must come to an end for nothing last forever. Eventually the summer ended and on we went to school. New things new people new teachers. And the end of our days of childish fun. For soon after was high school, things were different the rules had changed, we made new friends and began to see less of each other. Relationships began and ended, some stayed the same and some changed. We began new hobbies had different interest. But the one thing that never changed was that bond that grew from climbing trees and running through the fields. From our fights and disagreements, we never grew apart for our friendship never faded through the years of stress and trees, through boyfriends and girlfriends, through drama and plays it has only grown stronger and I can never be more thankful
