It's time to grow up they say,
They say
It's time to grow they say,
But I am only young.
How can I be expected to grow up when I know nothing about life?
How can I grow up when I have not yet spent my days carefree?
They think,
They think there is no time for enjoyment
There is no time for crying
There is no time for feeling
There is no time for speaking out against people who have wronged
There is no time
Go to school for 12 years
And then,
And then for another 4
But don't forget about getting a job
Don't,
Don't enjoy life as though it is only yours.
School-
More school-
Job-
House-
Car-
Family.
And that is it.
That is the way life is supposed to happen
That is the way they want us to live
But do not,
Do not listen to them.
We are young
And we,
And we only have one life
So go,
Go and enjoy sleepless nights with friends
Go and scream at the top of your lungs to a song you love dearly
Go and live through every heartache that comes your way and cry it out.
Do it,
Do it and I guarantee that you will feel more fulfilled with your very own life
You'll feel better about not following the rules of society
And you'll be grateful that you didn't listen to them
