A "Kiss Me" Shawmila One Shot

Darling, come on and let me in
Darling, all of the strangers are gone
They're gone
I said "Darling, come on and let me see"
Darling, I promise that I won't run

So tell me
Who are you in the dark? (I, I)
Show me the scary parts (I, I)

Shawn held Camila's hand as the Golden Globe winner was announced.

"And the winner for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy goes to.....Shawn Mendes!"

She threw her arms around him, one still holding the award for Best Actress she had just collected, and then made his way to the stage. He looked out at the sea of faces, actors and actresses, directors and producers, and musicians, who he had admired his whole life. He remembered most of his speech, a mouthed word from Camila reminding him of a couple of forgotten names.

"And I'd like to thank the love of my life, my muse and my inspiration, Camila honey I can say with complete honesty I would not be here without you. You inspire me every single day, I love you."

"Thank you so much." He hugged and kissed cheeks, only later realising who it was who congratulated him, two of the biggest Hollywood comedy stars.

Next came Best Song, and they both got up to accept the award for their beautiful duet, the one they wrote together that magical day in the studio.

They watched as the movie collected Best Musical/Comedy, to go with it's costume and set design awards. It was an amazing night. Afterwards, they headed to one of the biggest parties, meeting all their idols, and some of their music and model friends. They danced the night away, they sang Karaoke, they were given Johnny Cash and June Carter's "Jackson" and wore ten gallon hats and it brought the house down. In the wee hours, they stopped at a famous diner for hot dogs and coffee and then caught an Uber back to their house, Camila's house which they lived in together when in LA.

They were exhausted and put all three awards on their bedside table so they'd see them as soon as they woke up. They slept curled in each other's arms. Sometime in the night, Camila closed the automatic blinds and plunged the room into darkness. She would have done it accidentally because she knew he preferred to sleep with the blinds open, he claimed the filtered light made waking more natural and was a more healthy way to sleep. He hadn't told her the real reason yet. Everyone thought he had come out of the cave-in unscathed. The media loved to tell the story of how, when everyone thought he was dead, he was sitting comfortably in the back of the cave with food and drink and light, playing games on his phone. But it hadn't been like that. It hadn't been like that at all.

He had been standing inside the cave because he had to run out for the scene. The rumble seemed to come from all around him, from above, behind and below. The crew that was inside with him, and closer to the entrance, turned and ran. Only the girl who worked logistics, who had just dropped some boxes into the back of the cave and was walking out, was as close as he was, and he pushed her, hard, to get her out. And she did, not a scratch. Two of the stunt guys turned to come and get him, and he watched as the rocks fell, pinning them. Until he got out later, he was sure they were dead, just as they thought the same of him. He turned and ran, and it was like a scene from Indiana Jones, with the cave-in happening behind him, finally catching up to him and then it just stopped. He stood there, in a space no wider than him standing with his elbows out. There were two boxes here, a smaller one and a larger one, that looked like nothing more than a table and chair. There was a six-pack of water bottles and some food that was now covered in dust. And there was a light, which lasted only the first few hours. The rest of the time, he had sat there in the dark. He hadn't wanted his family or Camila to worry, so he had joked about it and laughed it off, but he couldn't go into a toilet cubicle, he couldn't get into a small car, and even sitting in a dark cinema was stressful. He covered it up, but just thinking of it had his heart racing and sweat beading his brow.
