Destined

Chapter Three

The SUV rolled to a stop in front of us and my stomach was in my throat as I waited for him to exit the vehicle. All I could see as he climbed out of the driver's seat was the back of his head which was cover in neatly styled dirty blonde hair, he was extremely tall. My breath caught in my throat as he walked around the the vehicle to us a heart stopping smile on his face. I scanned his body, the muscles in his chest and arms were straining against the long sleeved t-shirt he wore, dark wash jeans covered his legs complimenting the light color of his shirt and golden tan skin. My eyes moved to his face observing his angular jaw that was covered in scruffy stubble, as they moved upward to his eyes and my face immediately turns beat red when my eyes met his. He smirked at me a dimple appearing near the left side of his mouth, stormy blue eyes sparkling with amusement as I dropped my eyes. Shit shit shit. He caught me ogling him. Why was I like this? 

"Alpha Grant! It's been too long, it's wonderful to see you again!" His voice was deep and almost raspy. Well that's attractive my annoying inner voice whispers and my cheeks flush even more. Stop it Stop it Stop it. You have a mate out there somewhere. You have a mate out there somewhere. I repeat it over and over in my head like a mantra hoping in vain that it would make Alpha Damon less appealing to me. 

"Alpha Damon, I've been looking forward to this since you took over for your mother a couple years ago. I'm glad things have settled down enough for you to pay us a visit." Father says smiling and shaking Alpha Damon's hand. 

"Me too, I wish it could have been sooner. Again my condolences for the loss of your daughter, I heard she was an incredible person." I lift my eyes in time to see him glance at me with sympathy. 

"Thank you Alpha Damon." Mother says softly and he turns to her with a smile.

"Luna Caroline, it's wonderful to see you again." He hugs her lightly and kisses her cheek sweetly. 

"The last time I saw you, you were just a pup. You've grown into such handsome and strong wolf. I'm sure your mother is extremely proud." She says patting him on the cheek. 

"I like to think she is," He says laughing, "I know I gave her a run for her money as a teenager."

"I know someone else who did the same." She says shooting me a look, he laughs and my cheeks turn red again. Thanks Mother. He greets my grandparents before turning to me. With a smile he holds out his hand, I slide my small hand into his much larger one expecting a hand shake. My heart stutters when he raises my hand to his lips and presses a quick kiss to the skin on the back of my hand. My mouth opens slightly in surprise as he lowers our hands keeping my hand in his as he spoke. 

"It's wonderful to finally meet you Rhys. I've heard wonderful things about you, and I can't wait to get to know you personally." A low growl vibrates against the inside of my skull making me jump. Alpha Damon raises an eyebrow. "You okay?"

"Oh! I'm fine!" I tugged my hand from his and patted at my hair nervously. "I think a bug hit me, it just startled me." 

Dude what the fuck? What's the matter with you?  I hiss at J.R. in my head, he only responds with another growl before falling silent. 

He laughs sticking his hands in his pockets. I fold my hands together in front of me and put on the most convincing smile I can. 

"I'm happy to finally meet you as well Alpha Damon. Welcome to our territory, I truly hope you enjoy your visit." He grins widely and nods. 

"I'm sure I will." My father comes to my rescue drawing Alpha Damon's attention away from me. 

"We have prepared the RL suite for you on the third floor for the duration of your stay." He looks to me and I groan inwardly knowing whats coming, so much for being my rescuer dad. "Rhys will show you to your room, once you're ready she will escort you to the welcome BBQ in the back yard."
