Farkle's POV

I didn't know what to think.

This was strange, the atmosphere, I mean.

Everyone so tense except Riley, who was crying on the subway.

"Why!?"

"Because people believe in things, and other people don't, its what starts wars, burns religions...splits families." Maya said.

She always speaks so beautifully.

The subway screeched to a halt and the only sound on the subway was the sound of Riley's sobs. I reached over for something, maybe instimctivly, I don't know. I just needed to feel something else around me, so I knew that it wasn't just me. I didn't realize it until I grasped her hand, that I was reaching for Maya's hand. She didn't let go, she stood there holding Riley with her left arm and my hand in her right. Maybe she needed an something present also, or maybe she just liked the comfort, or maybe, just maybe she was the glue holding us together.

Maya's POV
What the hell am I doing? I thought to myself as I held Farkle hand in mine.

"Riley, you have to ubderstand...that's how they want to live, and they'll go to death himself, if they get to be together. It's horrid that a parent would do that but-"

"I DONT CARE ABOUT THEM RIGHT NOW!" She shouted. The subway looked at us.

"Than what?!"

"Would they do that to me? My parents, that love and support me."

"RILEY! DONT EVEN THINK FOR A SECOND THAT THEY WOULD DO ANYTHING LIKE THAT!" I said. The subway people stared now, Farkle had his mouth dropped wide. Then the subway stopped and we got off. And Farkle and I were still holding hands...
