I threw my blankets off and stepped onto my soft carpet, stretching and yawning. The sun shone through my curtains. I went over and opened them, the sunlight poured into my room, the sky was blue and there was hardly a cloud in it. I opened my window, pushing it up, and resting my hands on the windowsill as I breathed in the fresh air. I smiled a little and shut it, walking over to my closet to select an outfit to wear.
I tossed the skinny jeans, and grabbed a pair of shorts that stopped a little above the knee. I also grabbed a cream colored, long-ish tank top. As I was putting it on, I looked in the mirror and sighed, before putting the shirt on. After I was dressed, had brushed my teeth and hair, I laced my my red converse, they were my favorite shoes. I grabbed a bracelet off of my nightstand that had brown string, blue beads all around the string, and a blue butterfly on it.
I looked in the mirror once again before exiting my room. I pattered across the hallway, and down the stairs, to find my Aunt at the able, enjoying a cup of tea, reading a magazine. She looked up from her magazine as I walked by, to the fridge.
"Morning, honey." She greeted me with.
"M-morning." I replied as I rummaged through the fridge. I pulled out some strawberry yogurt and shut it.
"Do you have any plans for today?" My Aunt asked as I popped the lid open and grabbed a bowl out of the cabinet.
I shrugged my shoulders, setting it down, and getting a spoon, which made a metal clank as I set it down beside the bowl. I looked over at her to see her nodding, and returning to get magazine.
"C-can I-I g-go lo-look d-down i-in th-the basme-basement?"
"Sure thing, it's pretty dusty down there, though."
~Gerard's POV~
I walked up to Dawn's front door and knocked on it, shutting my hands in my pockets as I waited for i to be answered. It only took a moment before it was opened and I was greeted by Maria.
"Well hello, Gerard." She said with a smile, stepping aside to I could come in.
"Hello, ma'am." I replied.
"Dawn is down in the basement." She said, pointing to a door down the hall, I had never gone over there before.
"Thank you."
And with that, she walked up the stairs. I walked down the hall, it had blue walls and a white trim, as did most of their walls. I rested my hand on the cold door knob before pulling it open, and shutting it behind me. The basement was dark and dusty. It had boxes scattered across the floor, as well as a some bookcases and shelves.
The light was on, but it wasn't a very bright light. I could see the light from a flash light, and heard moving. I watched my step, making sure not to trip, as I made my way over to her. She was leaning over a bit, looking at something, but soon stood up right and turned around, almost running into me. She jumped a little and gasped.
"Sorry." I said with a light chuckle as I scratched my neck. "I didn't mean to scare you."
"Iit's o-okay." She replied, smiling a little.
I clear my throat and looked around. As she shone the flashlight around, you could see the beam of light because of the dust. She rummaged through a box that was set on a little table, picking up random things and putting them back.
I followed as she wondered around, looking at old paintings and books. She stopped at a shelf and picked up a little dark brown, shiny, wooden box. She ran her finger along it, following the little pattern.
"What is it?" I asked, standing beside her.
"M-my Aun-Aunt ga-gave i-it t-to m-me." She stuttered, opening it and winding it up. It started playing Music Of The Night, each note was like a little bell. A smile tugged on the corners of her lips.
"It's beautiful."
*********
I took her small hand in mine as we walked along the path in the park. I watched as she looked around, up at the trees which provided shade. She met my gaze with her bright blue eyes and I gave a small smile, as did she.
We listened to the birds that sang in the trees and flew over our heads. The wind blew through the trees and blew some of my hair into my face, I flipped it out and blew on it. I looked over at her and a smirk played on my lips.
I grabbed onto her lifted her up, and threw her onto my shoulders.
"Ah!" She screamed, I laughed. "Gerard!"
I continued to walk with her on my back. She reached up and grabbed a little pink flower that was on the tree. She smelled it and handed it down to me. It smelled really nice. I kept walking and people looked at us, some smiled, others gave us weird looks, I didn't care too much though. I looked up at her, she was looking up at the sky, I gave a smiled and decided to let her down.
She dusted her shorts off. I took the flower out of her hand, and put it in her hair. She gave a smile, as did I. I took her hand in mine and we walked back down the path. As we walked, I thought about what I was doing after summer. I was going to graduate. I was planing on going to Art School in New York.
