Deaf but can love|| Mike Shinoda

Chapter 4.

Mike's POV:

School ended, thank God for that.

Right now I was outside with my friends, smoking and talking, Anna was out with her 3 friends. I suddenly saw that girl Ash again, she was talking to Leah and Chester. She hugged Leah and fist bumped Chester and I saw Leah and Chester walk together to Chester's car and I watched them drive off. My friends asked me if I wanted to go to the pub with them. I told them I'll catch up, I wanted to talk to this girl.

I watched my friends walk away in a group and I slowly walked to this Ash girl.
"Hello" I said but she didn't say anything.
"Hello?" I said again and she didn't respond so I decided to tap her on the shoulder. She jumped and turned around, once she saw me, her pretty eyes widened.
"Hi" I smiled but she just stood there saying nothing.
"Hi?" I said again, this time she used her hands and I had no idea on what she just said.
"Um, I'm sorry. What?" I said, confused.
Ash face palmed and took out her phone and started texting.

'Hi there 😊'

She said on her notepad app.

"Um, you're Ash, right?" I asked.
She typed into her phone again.

'The one and only'

She showed me the message and I smiled.

"I'm Mike, Mike Shinoda. Listen, I wanna apologize for Anna's behavior. You didn't deserve that"

'It's okay, I mean...everyone changes'

"Uh, if you don't mind me asking, why are you typing to me on your phone when you could be talking to me with your mouth?"

'I'm deaf, I've been deaf all my life'

"Wow, that must be hard. But how come you know what I'm talking?"

'I can read your lips'

"That's awesome! It must be pretty cool the way you can read everyone's lips"

Ash giggled.

'Yeah it is'

"So is Leah your friend?"

'Yeah, we've been friends since 2nd grade'

"That's cool. Leah seems like such a sweet, protective friend"

'Yeah she is. That's why I love her'

"How do you know Chester?"

'He's Leah's boyfriend, she introduced me to him at lunch and I instantly grew close to him. He's really sweet and funny'

"I bet, listen do you wanna...I don't know, hang out?"

'I'd love to but what about your girlfriend?'

I grinned

"I honestly don't care what she says or thinks anymore"

'Oh, well then sure. I'd love to hang out with you'

"Awesome! Tomorrow at 7?"

'Sounds good :)'

"Great! Could I have your number? No reason or anything, just so I can talk to you more" I said nervously.

Ash grinned.

'Sure'

We exchanged numbers than Ash's mom came. She waved bye to me and I waved bye back.

This might be the start of a good friendship. Or more than that I hope, Ash is really really pretty.
