Come Tuesday we were back to school much to my dismay. The weekend at the beach was exactly what we needed. We all laughed and bonded. Telling the crew about Reid lifted a huge weight off my shoulders. Plus being able to be us around our closest friends was a feeling I couldn't put into words.
"How you feeling today?" Reid asked his voice laced with worry. It's been two days since I got sick at the beach house and I still felt off.
"Thankfully the nausea has settled but I feel weak and exhausted."
"I'll schedule you a doctors appointment." My mom waisted no time grabbing her phone.
"Mom that's really not necessary. It's just the flu or a cold." I grabbed the banana nut muffin and bottle of water she placed on the counter for me.
"It's better to be safe than sorry. Your appointment is this afternoon at four." She shot me a motherly smile only causing me to roll my eyes.
"I've got to get going! I've got a meeting with a client in twenty minutes. I expect to hear all about your doctors appointment this afternoon." My mom grabbed her briefcase and was out the door before we could even say bye.
"Really? I hope you're happy that she's making me go to the doctor." I huffed marching my way outside and towards his car. He unlocked the car and I climbed inside throwing my bag on the floor.
"I am tickled pink. You haven't been able to keep any food down in three days and you look pale. Forgive me for being a worried boyfriend." He sighed exasperatedly as he pulled out of the driveway.
"It's probably just a virus or something! Now you get to take me to the doctor after school."
"If you think that's going to make me convince you not to go...you're wrong."
"Fuck."
"Sorry babe! The sooner you go the sooner you will get some answers and start feeling better. I need my healthy girlfriend back." He winked seductively as he parked into his parking spot.
"Fucking pervert." I smirked shaking my head back and forth.
"Only for you love." Butterflies swarmed around inside my belly fluttering as they flew about.
"I am so sad I missed out this weekend! I heard about all the fun I missed out on. My parents suck!" Asia whined stomping her way up towards our group of friends.
"Maybe if you didn't steal their car in the middle of the night and crash it into the garage you wouldn't be grounded." Hannah shot daggers at Asia.
"Hey! You were with me! If I remember correctly you were all 'come on Asia! Let's just run there and back!' I wanted to stay in bed and watch The Vampire Diaries but nooooo you wanted to meet up with this moron." Asia snapped gesturing her head towards Cole.
"Don't feel bad darling I didn't get to go either. My dad had a business conference in Tampa so I had to stay home to watch my little brother. Looks like we all missed the fun." Cole wrapped his arm around Hannah's shoulder pulling her closer to his chest.
"Wait did I miss something here?" I asked slowly like I was left out of the loop. Sure I've seen them flirt but never anything more.
"Just the fact that these two are now a couple and warning it's gross. Like way over the top mushy shit that makes you want to jab your eyeballs out." Asia visually shivered in disgust.
"You're just jealous! We are cute aren't we baby?" Hannah melted against Cole's chest pecking him on the lips repeatedly.
"Oh. Okay gross." It was my turn to shiver. I couldn't tell if it was my sickness or the overwhelming urge to gag at the new love birds.
"I told you! Man I need to get laid and fast."
"I'd be more than willing to help you out." Damien winked at her. She looked him up and down before shrugging her head as if to say 'why not?'
"You think you can handle me big boy?" Asia purred taunting Damien seductively. Sure the guy is attractive. Hell anyone with eyes can see that. I mean what's not to like with his dirty blonde hair and his chocolate colored eyes. A bright smile between two of the cutest dimples that someone gave him that innocent look yet the second he opens his mouth and vulgar shit comes flying out wipes away any innocence that his appearance gives off. He is just as bad as Hudson if not worse and I wasn't sure that was even possible.
"Bunch of horny teenagers." Sarah and Paige both burst into a fit of laughter. The warning bell signaled that classes were about to start and like ants caught in the light students were fleeing in every direction.
"Only one way to find out. I'll pick you up at seven!" Damien walked backwards shooting Asia a heart stopping smile.
"Don't be late!" Asia winked at Damien who bumped into a tiny girl whose nose was deep into a book. He grabbed her sturdying her upright before bolting down that hallway hooting and hollering.
"Jeez just like that and you have a dick appointment? And I want a million dollars!" We all burst into a fit of laughter at Paige's Friends reference.
All day long I fought off the nausea that seemed to creep up at the worst times. It made even the idea of eating or drinking anything nauseating. At lunch I forced myself to eat a grilled cheese which made my stomach turn but it was easier to fight down the urge to puke than it was to see the worry in Reid's eyes.
"Yo Mack you look like shit." Hudson threw himself down at the lunch table.
"Hudson! That is rude. She looks beautiful." Sarah smoothed out her skirt before opening her salad.
"Normally yes but today she looks like a zombie." Hudson shrugged carelessly inhaling food like it was his last meal.
"Fuck off Hudson. I will puke on you in two seconds if you keep insulting me." I warned being some what serious.
"You're the most beautiful thing on the planet...now keep your vomit to yourself."
"Much better." I smiled triumphantly even though I knew he was right that I actually do look like a zombie. I feel like one too. I can't wait to start feeling better...to feel like myself.
