The Princes Shield

Chapter 2

Gavin's POV

(after Conan leaves the throne room)

"Gavin, I want you to go to my Conans room and if he tries to make you leave tell I'll ground him for a whole month." Hank said. "As you wish my king." Gavin said while giving a polite bow to the king and to Prince Connor.

As I make my way down the hall I'm stopped by Conan's older brother Connor. "Wait for a moment Gavin. My brother can be... difficult to deal with so if he gives you a hard time just pinch his left ear it's how father kept him from doing anything he wasn't supposed to do." Connor tells me, but as more of a warning. I bow to him and make my way to the young princes room.

I asked one of the castle guards where I can find Prince Conan's room, they told me how to find it and I saluted them in respect. As I make my way to the Prince's room, I started to wonder why everyone has told me to be careful, surely the prince can't be that bad. I finally made it to the bedroom, and knocked on the door, in a matter of seconds I'm greeted by a sharp and very demanding leave through the door. "With all due respect sir, I was instructed by your father to be your personal guard. Which means I have to be with you at all times". I state through the closed door.

The door opens to reveal a very pissed off prince. He lifts me off the ground and pins me against the wall and gives me the coldest look I've ever seen. "Look here, I don't need you to be up under me like some lost puppy. So when I say I don't need you I mean it." Conan said while I'm pinned against the wall. I can't show him the fear that is festering behind my eyes in fear of him seeing me as weak. "P-put me down." I somehow managed to get out of Conan's grip long enough for him to see the tears that are threatening to fall. "Gavin, are you o-" before Conan can finish his question, I leave so I can cry without being seen as weak.

Hello y'all, sorry for dropping the ball and not updating in for ever. But I'm trying to get back in the grove of things. Just know I'll try to get more chapters out when I can. Also I hope this chapter isn't bad.
