The Princes Shield

Chapter 1

Conans POV

*knock, knock* , "Hey Conan it's time to get up!" Connor says from outside my bedroom door. "Okay give me a minute to get dressed first." I say back to him while getting out of bed. I go take a quick shower and get out. I put on my uniform (the one from the cover) and style my hair. Before I can even open the door Connor, my wonderful older brother, opens it and basically drags me out of my room. "Come on father is in the throne room waiting for us. " Connor says while walking in front of me.

As we walked to the throne room to meet our father, I was just looking around not really paying Connor any attention as he was rambling on about whatever. As we entered the main hall I see our father talking with the guards and I happened to see a new person. He was kind of short, probably around 5 foot 4, and had short brown hair. But what really made me look at him was the prominent scar across his nose.

"Connor, Conan come here." King Hank, our father told us and we listed diligently. "Conan, I would like to introduce you to your new knight, Gavin Reed" My father said while having me turn my attention to the shorter person in front of me, who I now know as Gavin, kneelin in front of me. "Father, with all due respect I don't believe that he can't do much to help me if I get in danger." I say turning to my father, ignoring the harsh glare I'm getting from Gavin, and him muttering under his breath about how he'd probably push me in to harms way. I leave my father and brother with a polite bow, and head back to my room.  "I can't believe that my father thinks that knight would be any help to me!"  I angrily say as I walk back to my room. 

As I sit on my bed I hear some one hiting my door like a mad man. I get fed up with it and open the door. When I open it, I see Gavin looking at me with a glare. "What do you want?" I say to Gavin with probably to much of an attitude. "I was instructed by his Majesty to be with you at all times.  and he said if you turn me away you'll be grounded for two months." Gavin says calmly. I stare at him with annoyance and just decided to listen to my fathers wishes. "Fine, you'll stay in here with me. But I will not be responsible if you get injured doing basic guard duty." I say to Gavin while walking back into my room. I sigh and think to myself "this is going to be such an annoyance."  I don't try to think to much and just go to sleep.

Wow, first chapter done! I know that it may not be good but I tried and it took me longer than expected to get the first chapter done.
