Cursed Halves

•Chapter 1•

Once upon a time there was a prince and a princess. They were both cursed by two fairies at birth. The fairies were sisters but they always hated each other. The curse made the prince and princess want to kill each other, but it was only possible with a certain dagger. With the curse the fairies connected their lives to the prince and princess's, so whoever died first their fairy would die with them.

Holly's POV-
As I finished the sentence, I saw the children squirming around with looks of horror on their faces. I remember being just as frightened hearing the story as a little kid and decided that story time should be over now. The tale was popular through the kingdom and as I had continued hearing the old tale numerous I realized all the lies in the story and decided that the tale was just a bunch in bogus. Since I was a child, people were always wondering if I had heard about it, though I never quite understood why. My parents on the other hand, tended to steer clear of the topic. Every single time I brought it up they would just dismiss it like it was absolutely nothing, so that's what I believed.  But in the back of my mind, I always wondered why the legend showed exactly how the relationship between the Maxwell’s kingdom and ours was. This idea was the only reason I  had a small belief that there was a small chance the legend could be true and that it was about me. Besides the legend, I have to go to a royal dinner with Prince Aeron Maxwell tonight. We’ve known each other since we were really little kids. We used to be really close but we started drifting apart as we got older. I still can’t believe that my parents are forcing me to marry him. I know it could be worse for me but something tells me that there is no way I  could spend the rest of my life with him. In the end, I would do anything for my kingdom and to stop this never ending war, even if it means a forced marriage. Although, sometimes I wish I could just make Aeron never exist.
