Under Corsica's Sun (Completed)

Chapter 4

The sun's shining. Maya wakes up yawns heavily and stretches her arms. She definitely had a good sleep. She looks around but doesn't see Riley. She hears some voices outside she goes to the window and looks out. She sees Riley is playing soccer with a bunch of little kids which makes her smile softly and think that's adorable. She gets ready and goes outside. She is now sitting on the ground with her back to the wall a coffee in her hand and is watching them play soccer.

„Come on, little Griezmann! You can do better than that!" Riley says jokingly to the little brunette boy.

Some time after the soccer match we find our two girls at the entrance of an open air café. They give each other a suspicious look make a new handshake with a fist bump and say nothing they both just nod. Then they start walking in different directions. Riley sees a lonely guy sitting alone by a table she approaches him and before she can say something a woman sits herself next to the guy.

„Shit!" Riley mumbles and continues her search.

Maya is also looking for a lonely guy. She sees one.

„Hey how are you?" She asks gently to the guy at the at the standing area.

Soon after a girl with long legs stands next to them.

„Uhm hello! He's taken, bye!" the girl says annoyed.

„Oh sorry!" Maya quickly responds and walks away.
„There must be one guy who is not taken goddamn it." She walks further to a field.

Maya sees Riley is successful with her search for a guy. She can't believe it she has to be faster now.
Riley talks to the redhead guy at the side seat.

„So how do you ask in french, will you take me out this evening ?" Riley flirts with him.

„Uhm... tu m'emmènes ce soir?" The redhead responds smiling.

„Sooo... ??" Riley blinks with her eyes and puts her shoulder a little forward.

Maya at the same time has found a new potential single guy . He is staring at her she notices it and whistles at him to come over. So he does Maya then takes his hand.

„Will you buy me a drink?" she says confidently and drags him towards the bar. The guy is smitten by her nods and follows her.

They pass the table where Riley is trying to get her guy. Maya gives Riley a glare and strikes a subtle winning pose. Riley looks defeated. She can't believe Maya was faster than her.

„Uhm i think be nice to go out." suddenly the redhead responds shyly in a french accent.

Riley looks at the guy with a frown.
„I'm sorry i'll try harder !" she responds with a Siri voice.

„ What ?" The redhead responds very confused.

„My pleasure!" Riley still in her Siri tone making a robotic gesture. Then she quickly walks away.

Some time has passed Riley and Maya decide to go somewhere else. Maya puts her hands in the air and does a winning shake.

„You only won the bet on unfair basis..." the brunette says with a frown pouting her mouth.

„Wohooo yeah! Well some are born champions and some are simply not." the blonde says proudly.

The girls walk through the beautiful alleys trying to find the right restaurant. They pass by a circle of people standing and talking. Riley has one of her great ideas again. She pulls Maya to her and they go to said people.

„Bonsoir Bonsoir !" Riley starts
„So many lovely people it is a pleasure to meet you!" She shakes their hands gives them air kisses.

„Ah, it always great meet new tourists!" an older french man says.

„What drives you here to Bastia ?" a french lady asks curiously.

„Well we are currently shooting a new film with our crew here." Riley responds quickly. Then looks and points at Maya. „SHE is the STAR of the film! She is a groundbreaking talent and the new Jennifer Aniston some could say!"

Maya gives Riley a seriously look but then smiles and before she can say something.

„Oh wow! How amazing is that! Come in, Come in you're welcome! There's enough space for us all." the french lady claps and asks them in enthusiastically.

They both follow the people and they get seated. The french people are very welcoming friendly and warm. They have some great conversations with them and eat very delicious food.

After the some time the duo decides to sit on some rocks near the coast. They were told that any moment a firework would start. Of course they didn't want to miss that. As they watch the firework Maya gets closer to Riley and lays her head on her shoulder. Riley then puts her head on the blonde's head. They both feel a certain spark. Both of their hearts are beating faster now but none of them say something they are just in the moment and enjoy every second of it.
