It's breaking dawn the girls are sleeping tightly embraced. They are both laying on their side with their faces to the window. Riley's left arm is under Maya's head and her right one is on her upper body. They are in the typical spoon position. A small ray of sunshine makes the blonde wake up. She's feeling so warm and safe in Riley's arms it's like home. She yawns softly and turns to her. She just watches her sleep and thinks she looks like a cute angel. If she had to pick a moment that would last forever it would be definitely this one... Then she startles up and realizes what they have done and what it now means. This feeling scares her that's what she has been afraid of the whole time. She gets up softly from the bed trying not to wake up Riley. She dresses herself and goes outside. Around 20 minutes later Riley finally wakes up. She yawns stretches her arms and looks around. She doesn't see Maya on her left side that makes her sad and suspicious. She gets up looks around but she is nowhere to be found in their room. She puts some clothes on and goes down to the lobby. Riley first looks around at the reception then she goes to the breakfast room afterwards she looks outside the hotel. Nothing. She just can't find her. She gets frustrated. Where did Maya go ? She thinks more concentrated now. Where could she have gone ? Or did something happen to her ? Several thoughts were running through Rileys head. Suddenly a place occurs to her. Of course ! There's only one place she could be right now she thought. She runs immediately towards that local café on the first day they met. Then she goes to those stairs which leads to the railing with the beautiful ocean view. She stands there for a minute trying to catch her breath. Then she finally sees her leaning on the railing looking to the blue water. It's like a deja vu.
„Hey..." Riley starts. „You really worried me this time." She says with a soft smile.
Maya turns around and looks at the brunette with a serious look.
„Hey, why so serious ?!" Riley asks irritated and feels something's wrong.
„I screwed up!" Maya responds upset.
„Well it takes two to tango. So... WE screwed up." Riley reassures.
„No you don't understand ! I cheated...I have a boyfriend at home." Maya spits out.
That shocks Riley for a moment and makes her sad but then she remembers that she is not entitled to judge her or to be mad at her for having someone else. They only met here on vacation and promised to only have fun and not fall for each other.
„Maya, don't be so hard on yourself. You are only human it can happen to anyone. We're on vacation here. We just couldn't resist the temptation. I'm sorry if i've driven you to do something you didn't wan..." Riley speaks genuinely.
„Shut up !" Maya yells. „I'm not mad about the fact that i cheated on him. I never loved him anyway. I realized that in those six days we spent with each other. He never made me feel the way i feel when i'm with you. You only have to look at me and i get weak in the knees." Maya confesses.
Rileys heart is beating so fast right now. She can't believe what she just heard. She's is speechless. The girl she's in love with feels the same way about her. She would just love to grab Maya and kiss her profoundly but something stops her from doing that. There's a question popping up in her head.
„Then why are you so upset about what happen last night ? Cause honestly... i feel the same way about you. Your smile, your laugh, your touch just everything about you makes the butterflies in my stomach fly around like crazy." Riley confesses as well.
„It's like you said! We're on vacation ! And if you meet someone on vacation and something happens then it should ONLY be a light hearted romance ! But... i'm deeply in love with you and that's crazy cause i only know you for almost a week ... it's like you're my soulmate. And after all this is over we will go back to our normal lives and nothing's gonna be the same anymore and my heart will break into pieces and i don't know how to handle that." Maya explains frustrated.
Riley understands now what the blonde beauty was struggling with this whole time. She agrees with every part she just said except one part. She steps closer to Maya and puts a hand on her teary face.
„You know our story is still unwritten. We can change the the rules anytime if we want to. We just have to be brave enough to take the next step. Being in love can be so scary... i know! And i don't know what the future holds for us but one thing i know for sure... I love you with all my heart and i don't want to let go of you !" Riley says tenderly.
This makes Maya cry. She's very moved by this speech. She leans forward and kisses Riley delicately. The brunette replies the kiss and pulls the blondes body closer to her.... They stop kissing only their foreheads are touching.
„What now ?" Maya asks softly.
„Well you could start by telling me were you live !?" Riley answers witted.
„Los Angeles, California." Maya responds slowly and looks up to see Rileys reaction.
„The gods are on our side !" Riley says happily. „I live in Santa Barbara. So only around 1 hour and 30 minutes away from you. Lucky us."
Riley crouches down a little bends her arm stretches her hand and looks at Maya. The blonde knows exactly what she is trying to do. She imitates her movement.
„Lets make a NEW promise ! BUT THIS TIME we should really keep it ! We will enjoy the the last two days of our vacation and when we go back to our normal lives we will stay in contact to be more specific we will be together again cause I want to experience everything about you and i can't imagine my life without you anymore ! So... we may have to first figure out the living situation but we will come up with something ... cause we love each other and love conquers all..." Riley says very committed.
„... and because we are soulmates who are meant to be together ! People who are meant to be always find their way back to each other !" Maya adds eagerly.
The couple clap their hands together. Look each other deep in the eyes and say one last phrase.
„You and Me ! Forever !"
