"Okay so what type of song should we make?" Nini asks Ricky as the two sit on FaceTime for the tenth time that week.
"Hmmmmm" he says scratching his chin. "Well I just released songs about like breakups so we shouldn't do that, what is your new song about?" He asks and she laughs. "Basically about an ex that used to make his problems seem like worse than anyone else's but also used to expect me to help him solve them. I talked, or sang, a few brief examples of things that have gone wrong for me that I've pushed through to show that everyone goes through hard patches and all you can do to get through them is to help yourself because no one can make you change except for yourself." She says smiling and thinking about her song. It's one of her favorites because she's worked on it for as long as she can remember and it's close to her heart.
While Nini was talking about her song Ricky couldn't help but admire her as she got passionate about the meaning of the song. With his head in his hand he watched in awe as he saw Nini's genuine happiness from talking about her music.
"I'm sorry that was a lot to take in." She says laughing awkwardly. "Nono I loved it, your explanation really makes me want to go listen to it to experience the story behind it." He says and she chuckles. "Trust me if I could go back and not go through that story I would." She says looking down.
"Hey everything happens for a reason. That is apart of who you are and you should be proud to have gotten through it, and to have written what I'm positive is a beautiful song because of it. Don't be ashamed or embarrassed of your past." He says softly making her look at her phone smiling. "Thanks Ricky." She says and he returns the smile.
"Now back to business, we both wrote songs on the sadder side.." he said and Nini laughs, "that's not a word." She said and he rolls his eyes. "It is now, so we either make a happy song or.." he trailed off, "a love song.." Nini finished for him. "You know, I think that a love song would be a good idea, I mean it would be relatable." She said shrugging her shoulders. "I agree with you." He said nodding.

"Why is this so hard?" Nini asks laying her head on her desk. "I don't know.." Ricky says through the phone sighing."It feels impossible." Nini groans making Ricky laugh. "Woah woah play nice." He defended throwing his hands up when Nini gave him a death glare.
"Maybe if we uh tried to write it in person? Do you think it would be easier?" He asks and Nini sighs. "It's worth a shot." She said shrugging. "Sooo like where are we gonna do this at? I would offer for you to come over but my family is here for the week and there's a lot of us so I don't think we'd be able to concentrate." He said shrugging. "Well you can come to my apartment." Nini says, "My old roommate moved out a few months ago so it's just been me." She said shrugging and Ricky nodded.
"When do you wanna start?" He asks and Nini pauses, thinking for a moment. "I'm not doing anything now, if you're free." She says and he smiles. "Send me your address. I'll bring snacks." He says and she laughs. "Okay, see you soon."
