Balto, Kali, and Teeders were pretty far out now as snow was just beginning to fall. Balto kept marking trees as they continued on.

They struggled for a bit, as the snow started coming down harder. They knew the weather was only going to get worse, which is why they needed to find the sled team now.

"Oh, where could they possibly be?" Teeders thought, hoping the sled team was alright wherever they were.

Balto sniffed the air and soon caught a whiff of a familiar scent.

"Steele!" He whispered.

"Did you find them, boy?" Kali asked Balto anxiously.

"Where are they?" Teeders added.

"Over here!" Balto told the girls, leading them over to a hillside.

As the trio came up over the hillside, they looked down to discover the sled team, half frozen, at the bottom of a ravine.

"Well, speak of the devil" Kali said. The tomboy never thought she'd be more relieved to see Steele and his team alive.

The friends were glad they had finally found the sled team. Balto eagerly went down to meet them but ended up slipping on the ice patch.

"Balto, careful!" Kali and Teeders both said in concern and quickly slid down the ice patch with Balto to the sled team.

Star looked up and was shocked once he saw Balto and the girls. "Balto!"

The rest of the dog team looked up and couldn't believe it. "Is that?... Balto! How did you find us?"

"Is anyone hurt?" Balto was quick to ask as he came down with the girls.

Steele, who had remained in his spot the entire time slightly turned his head back towards the group with a very frightening looking death glare.

"Everyone... is... fine..." He lowly growled towards them.

Kali and Teeders then looked over to see the dogs' unconscious musher lying in the snow.

"Apparently not, cause it looks to me your musher is near death" Kali glared back at the loathsome lead dog.

Teeders came over to exam the musher.

"He hit his head" Star explained to her what happened. "And he didn't get up"

"And he's not moving" Kaltag added.

Teeders looked over the musher then told the others on his condition. "He's fine. Just a bad bump on the head. But he'll be a lot better once we get him medical help" She explained.

"I agree" Kali said to her friend, advising everyone. "The sooner we get moving, the sooner we'll all be fine"

"Alright, follow me" Balto told the team, taking the reins in his mouth. "I can lead you home"

Steele suddenly slammed his paw down on the reins, stopping the scrub dog while glaring at him. "We don't need your help"

"M-Maybe we should listen to him" Star said nervously, which earned him a fierce growl from Steele as the lead dog snapped his teeth at him, scaring poor Star.

"How would you get us home?" Nikki asked Balto and the girls.

"Well, I marked the trail, like this" Balto said, demonstrating be scratching his claws on a nearby tree.

Steele then leaped in front of Balto. "I'll get us back!" The malamute sneered, growling at the black scrub dog. "I'm the lead dog, I'm in charge!"
