The wind felt cold against my skin, with every wave it seemed to dig deeper than the last, it caused my feet to push farther with warmth being my only destination in mind.
The sky ahead was quickly growing with light, soon they will notice that I'm gone but hopefully my feet have carried me far enough that they wont have time to stop me. I've got a ticket taking me far from this cold heartless place, the weather seemed to reflect the people who came from this small town, isolated from happiness and compassion.
My lungs felt like they were on fire, my throat burned from the cold, and I'm not sure if I had toes anymore or they froze and broke off. Ironically I love this weather and any other time I would enjoy white snow covered grounds and taking a stroll through the woods, but usually id find myself back to home with dry and warm clothes with some sort of hot drink to keep me company.
Where did it all go wrong, I could chalk it up to life or just bad luck, but it was much worse than a simple bad grade or getting busted by the cops smoking behind the school. It went wrong the day I was born, the day the gods decided to put in motion a proficiency that was sure to be the end of me.
