The sound of the snow crunching beneath my feet seemed to echo around me, the sun was setting quickly and soon my absence would be noticed, if I didn't hurry my ride would surely leave. Realistically if I shifted I would be there in no time, but I would risk being seen and leaving a wet dog smell behind, making me easier to be found, and that is definitely the last thing I need right now. I guess while I'm running for my life I should let you know a little about myself, my name is Elizabeth or Emmy for short, I'm currently running from my small midwest pack the Red Mountain. For as long as I can remember I have had no one, no family, and no friends, I was treated as the pack omega which really is a fancy word for slave, only once had the alpha of Red Mountain given me an explanation of how I was even in their pack, apparently during boarder patrol a tracker had found me nestled in a tree, no more then a few weeks old. That was it, no one was found and no one came to claim me.
While I was an omega, I wasn't treated that bad, I was never abused or punished, but I also had no say in my life either, I was expected to take care of and maintain everything in the pack house, I was sent to school, and was given the basic amenities to survive. But other than that I basically had no connection to the pack, I wasn't even able to mind link them. I was alone for so long I had to leave, I need answers to who I am, how I go here.
A faint but strong howl was heard from behind me.
They know.
