*Baby, take my hand I want you to be my husband. 'Cause you're my Iron Man and I love you 3000. Baby, take a chance 'cause I want this to be something straight out of a Hollywood movie."
The sound of my ringtone woke me up from my sleep.
Kinapa-kapa ko ang phone ko on my bedside table and reached out for it.
"Hi baby!"
I can sense the excitement in her voice.
"Yes mom?"
I am still covered with my white fluffy comforter when I got a call from my mom.
"Did I wake you up? Sorry anak. I sent someone to bring your dress for tonight's engagement party."
I slowly got up and sat down,
"Okay mom, see you later."
I rubbed my eyes to check the time and it's 10 am already.
It's Saturday today and it's been 4 days since I last saw Chauncey.
My week passed by the usual, busy with photoshoots and there's nothing really special except for today - the engagement party.
Chauncey and I exchanged a few Instagram messages from time to time but there's nothing really much as he's also in La Union for a surfing competition. He would also send me beach pics from time to time.
I'm not excited nor thrilled, the only thought that lingers in my mind is I have to obey my parents and give up this fight as I know they won't back down.
*Dingdong*
I'm still in my pajamas when I heard the doorbell.
I didn't even wash up yet.
I checked on the peephole who's the person behind the door and it's my BFF, Mae.
I opened the door and saw her eyes smiling at me while waving excitedly.
She suddenly hugged me tight that I almost fell on my back.
I think it's been also a week since I last hung out with her since everyone's busy.
"I missed you, Love."
I hugged her back.
"Come in."
She went straight to my kitchen and followed her. She grabbed some juice while I leaned on the counter.
"Hey, tonight's the big night! Are you ready?"
Her smile ever since she walked into my unit is still plastered all over her face.
"As if I can do something if I say that I'm not ready, right?"
I rolled my eyes and pouted my lips.
