It was the party of the century. The first party of the last year of high school. Catherine saw that poster in the wall of activities. She wondered if the school was gonna to take this off because at this party there's drugs, alcohol and a bunch of other stuff. Anyway even if they take it off it was all the whole school could talk about. Catherine wasn't really a « popular » but she figured to survive this step of her life with pretty good grades. Not enough to go to a Ivy League but enough to get into a pretty god school, not to far from the town she loved. So, Catherine got invited but never really plan to go. It was until last Wednesday when Tim asked her:
-So, what's hot in high school now?
-Why? Do you have interest to come back?she answered
-No, but isn't there a party or something?
-Well there's this one party that a lot of people are talking about, but I don't plan on going.
-I didn't took you for the stuck up type.
-I am not stuck up! I just have my priorities. Plus my ex throwing it.
-So your gonna let other people interfere with your decision? More and more surprise about you.
-Well maybe I will. If you came to the party, I would to.
Tim made a little nod, he didn't want to go to a party with a bunch of "kids"
-Oh come on! Chicken? Catherine said with a smile
-Okay...you won but it's only because I don't want you to miss in high school and I have the rights to bring friends.
In fact Tim didn't even know if his friends would want to come.
-Yay! Make a space in your calendar Friday, Catherine said
-Can you do me a favour, since I'm going?
-Depends
-Kiss me
-No
-What, it's not like you haven tough of it?
-I know but you don't deserve it wet
-When will I?
-You'll see
It's not like Catherine never kissed a boy before, but kissing a guy that's in college? She didn't even know his real age. She just assumed he was close to 21. "Maybe that's why he didn't want to come, because it would be weird if the police showed up and saw him with a bunch of minor." She wondered. The truth is Tim was just a sophomore, not close enough to be adult to the law and certainly or close enough to be an adult in his mind. Tim was just afraid of what people would think of him. He always is. His whole life as been a pacage of shot and nobody told him it was going to be okay, he just assumed that it would always turn down to shit and that it was all his fault. And Catherine didn't do a better job, convincing Tim he was great because he really looked okay.

It was the party of the century, well it was but not for the reason everyone thought it would be.
