Take A Chance       Paris POV:

“Be quiet Brooke!” I whisper yelled at my twin sister who was frantically  trying to open our front door. Me and Brooke quietly tiptoed by our drunk father passed out on the couch… the usual. We quietly went on to our room, the only safe place in the house a.k.a. the only place my dad never entered. I started to unpack my dance bag while Brooke looked deep in thought. We have had many awkward silences lately… this has been a hard time for both of us. “Do you think he will ever stop? Like maybe even everything will turn out fine and like... go back to normal?” Brooke questioned. I shrugged “ Brooke,” I sighed, “ I have told you many times we have to-“   “ I know I know you say that every time but I won’t leave him. He would be all alone we just can’t.  I would feel guilty, you know that!’ Brooke yelled at me. I was surprised by her reaction. Her attitude toward him. How could she say his name with so much love, like she could just forgive him on the spot? Like nothing in the world could ever make her hate him. That he was the dad of all dads. That he cared for us. Brooke is the type of person who took everything, every event and found a way to turn the outcome positive. To take the worst moment of someone’s life and have the optimistic view of the situation. That was something I would never understand. “He doesn’t love us and I know you know that Brooke. Don’t deny the truth.” I mumbled. A bang sounded from the living room. I clenched my fists with anger. The effect people could have on your life was incredible. How the way you would  feel around that person could change in a moment. One instant could just change your life for forever . The scars it caused you internally. The emptiness that occurs in you permanently. How your life was perfect one instant and bang ruined the next.  The sound of a door opening brought me back to my senses.
