The air was damp and cold. Only the sound of soft rain carried through the air as I walked through the streets.

"Please don't go, Mika."

I turned towards the voice of one of my best friends. "You don't get it, Iwaizumi. He hurt my friends. He made everyone who ever cared about me run away."

"I care about you." He said, stepping closer.

"You may have once, but now your just Nobuteru's minion."

"Please-" he begged one last time. I shook my head and turned away, leaving the one that betrayed me behind.

I ended up at Tokyo Club, owned by the infamous Karasuno syndicate. I didn't care if I wasn't welcome here. I just had to get what I came for.

I sat on a stool in the corner, waiting for a drink, when I spotted Ukai, Karasuno's leader. This could be my chance, I thought.

His tinged blonde hair was pulled back perfectly from his face and puffs of smoke released from his mouth. He disappeared behind a curtain before I could even think about approaching him. Two guards, one bald and the other with a strange blonde piece in the middle of his hair, stood at the curtains entrance.

I walked up to them, plastering on a fake smile, "Excuse me, I'd like to talk to your boss."

The bald one looked down at me, "on what grounds."

I spoke one word, "Employment."

"You want a job?" The smaller one asked. I nodded my head and gestured towards the curtains, "may I."

The two looked at each other, obviously uncertain if they should let me in. Before they could answer, a loud voice came from inside the room. "Just let her in."

The guards scrambled away, allowing me to enter the dark musty room. The sweet smell of smoke and sweat emanated from Ukai. He sat with his arms behind him. Obviously, he didn't feel like I was a threat.

"I heard you wanted a job," he gave me a once over, "what can you do?"

The fake smile fell off my face, "I'm Mika Iwaizumi, former Aoba Johsai mob. I want in, no matter the job, just give me one."

Ukai squinted like he was seeing me for the first time. "So your Seijoh, former Seijoh but still... why do you want a job?"

I clenched my jaw, hate filling this single word, "revenge."

He smiled wickedly, "good, you can start tomorrow. Make sure you bring all your stuff with you, we like to stay close together in case anything happens."

I cleared my throat, "actually, I need to start tonight. I have nothing with me and nowhere to go."

"Fine."

"So that's it?" I shook my head in disbelief, it should have been harder.

Almost like he was reading my mind, Ukai replied, "don't worry, I'm running a security check on you as we speak." He leaned in closer to me and gave me a menacing gaze, "If I so much as find out you lied during this little interview, your not just going to be worrying about getting revenge."

He relaxed, whistling sharply, immediately the bald guard came in. "Take her to headquarters, find her a room and make sure the others know she's a new member."

"Yes, sir," the bald boy said. He gestured toward the exit and made me go first. The smaller guard stayed behind and seemingly glared at me as we walked away.

As we walked through the crowded bar and into the autumn street, the guard spoke, his voice much friendlier than before. "I'm Tanaka."

I stared at him. He was all sharp looking, scary almost. I gave him a brief nod, "I'm Mika."

Once we approached a black car, he opened the passenger seat. I was surprised, he definitely didn't seem like the chivalrous type.

When we were off driving, he kept looking over at me. Almost like he wanted to say something. Finally he let out a long breath. "Are you sure you want a job?"

I looked at him surprised, "why wouldn't I?"

"It's just," he rubbed the back of his neck, "you can't get out of this business once you start."

I gave him a strange look. Never in my life would I have thought that this terrifying boy spoke caring words to anyone, especially someone he's never met.

"I've been in the business for a while," I told Tanaka and nodded my head reassuringly. "I'll be fine."

We spent the rest of the ride in silence. I couldn't help but think that I really wasn't fine, I never would truly be until I got my revenge on Aoba Johsai.
