The next morning we all decided to have breakfast on the beach. Chris didn't take his eyes off of me.
"Felix didn't feel great last night, I think we're just gonna kick back at the pool today"
" that's a great idea we all need to get our mind off things."
We walked down the beach a bit to the cabanas. Me and Chris had one, Felix had one and Gabby had one. I took the hood off the cabana and tanned next to Gabby. The boys sat in the water.
"Babe I'm going up to the room to grab waters I'll be back."
Gabby started talking
" Anya I'm really sorry for anything I've done in the past. I was desperate for a boyfriend. I now realized that all I need is friends."
"I don't care anymore, you've proved to me that you're loyal."
"Now how about some selfies?"
We stood up to take pictures
"Uhhh Anya...where's Felix."
"Did he go up with Chris"
I'll call him.
(On the phone with Chris)
"Chris did Felix go up with you?"
"No he wanted to play in the water."
"Oh my god"
(Anya hangs up)
We went up and down the beach looking for Felix. We looked in and out of the water. Nothing.
"FELIX, FEEEELIX, WHERE ARE YOU, HELLO?"
We called his name forever.
We looked everywhere.
Finally I looked under the last cabana. He was there. Thank god.
"Felix what the hell. Don't ever do that again."
"Sorry Anya I must have dozed off."
"You scared me half to death you little shit."
Chris came down in a panic.
"Did you find him. Is he okay. Where is he?"
"We got him, he was asleep under a cabana."
"Holy shit I've never ran so fast in my entire life."
We all walked back to the hotel and stayed in there for a while. Felix wanted to go to the pool so I took him down and left Gabby and Chris in the room by themselves.
(Gabby to Chris)
"Look I'm sorry for being such a slut, I regret it so much. Sorry for flirting with you."
"Nah it's cool, I understand."
"So what do you think about this whole disappearing thing?"
"Pretty freaky. I think it was an alien abduction."
"I just don't understand how everyone could disappear, just like that. And leave behind just a handful of kids? It just all doesn't make sense.
Felix and I returned back to the room.
" Felix didn't feel good"
It was now almost 5pm so we all had Mac and cheese. One by one we all got in the shower.
"Save water and shower with me." Chris said with a wink.
I jokingly smacked him. He grabbed my face and kissed me.
"I don't know what took me so long. But now I've never been happier"
"I love you Chris."
When everyone was done showering we went to our rooms and got in our beds. I flipped through the channels until I got to the movies on demand. I ordered "the fault in our stars". It's a movie from when my mom was a kid. 2014. The year was now 2034. I stayed awake and listened to the sound of my boyfriend breathing. The sound of his breath reminded me of Felix. I ran into his room to make sure he was okay.
No. This can't be happening. His face was blue. And his hand was on his heart. I fell to the floor, unable to get up, I sat there in shock for what felt like hours. Not Felix. I let out a scream.
"NOOOO, PLEASE WAKE UP. FEEEELIX. PLEASE BUDDY GET UP. "
Gabby was the first to run in, then Chris.
"He forgot to do his treatment. He forgot. He..he..he...he's dead...hes...he's gone."
We sat there till morning.
"Maybe we should find a funeral home and take him home in a casket." Suggested Gab.
"Well bury him next to his sister."
That's just what we did. We found a casket his size and placed him in. The long ride home was quiet. We all rode in the car this time. He was only 12. Why him.

When we got home we buried him next to his sister. We all sat by their graves and mourned. It wasn't fair. First the entire world leaves, then one by one, what's left of the human race leaves. What was the point in living.
