chapter 21

It had been one week ever since Haechan confessed. The week was filled with annoying the three who also resided with us. The amount of tension and hope they had when we bantered with each other.

"Oh my fucking god, just kiss already!" Renjun was clearly impatient with his shout, eyeing the two of us as we concentrated on the television. "Do I have to forcefully bang your heads together for the two of you to realize that you like each other?"

"Renjun, no violence," Jeno said, pulling him by the collar and out of the living room. "We're going to buy paint, see you all in a bit!"

"I am not done with my argument!" Renjun helplessly shouted as he was dragged out of the apartment by Jeno.

"They're going to take longer than I think they are going to take," Jaemin lamented, opening the refrigerator to see that it was getting empty. "I need to buy some groceries. You two, don't start a fire."

"Pfft, I'm good at cooking, what are you talking about?" Haechan asked, a confident smirk on his face.

"Says the one who nearly burned down the apartment building," Jaemin brought up.

"That was a one-time thing!" Haechan defended. "It won't occur again."

"I hope not as well," Jaemin said before getting his car keys. "I'll be back before dinner."

With that, Jaemin left and the three of us were left alone. Star eagerly hopped onto the couch and rested on Haechan's lap. She gazed at me innocently.

"I can't believe she beat me to it," I groaned, petting her. "This snitch."

"Hey, you wanna go on a date tomorrow? It's a weekend anyways," Haechan suggested, looking at me. "Rock-paper-scissors, shoot!"

Haechan presented rock, while I showed paper.

"I won!" I grinned, teasing him. "You're so bad at rock-paper-scissors, I can't believe this. You first lost when you wanted cuddle time, now the date."

"Then give me two hours, I'll make some quick cash to pay for the date," Haechan stated, moving Star to my lap and getting up, heading towards the room. "I'll post a video so that I can replace the money I'm going to use with that."

"Happy playing!" I exclaimed. "Enjoy, okay?"

"Can I get a goodluck kiss before I play?" he peaked out of the hall, a smile on his face. Before I could even reply, he spoke up. "Too much? Okay, I'll ask you another day!"

With that, the sound of the door shutting was heard. He was already in the room. I sighed and looked down at Star who fell asleep.

"I can't believe you sleep so much," I muttered, leisurely stroking her. "You know, I thank you so much for bringing me closer to Haechan. You were my first gift from him."

It was nearing 4 pm and Jaemin wasn't home yet. Killing the day by working on my assignments and submitting them an hour before made me exhausted. I set them aside and headed towards the kitchen, scanning for food to eat. I wasn't the most skilled at cooking, but I did know how to cook instant noodles.
