It's A Match Made In Heaven

Chapter Three

  Mia stood by Mr. Ridge as he spoke to Claire who kept batting eyes at her teacher. Mia noticed that Chase had left the class which meant he wasn't going to stay to talk to their teacher, 'boys' she mumbled under breathe. Claire finally left leaving Mia alone with Ridge.
   'Mia he started I'm actually pleased you're part of our class because I feel every is going to....... He looked around before continuing 'where's Chase' he asked looking back at Mia. 'He left I guess' Mia replied looking right back her teacher. Ridge sighed and shook his head. 'Mia can you do me a favour?' he asked with pleading eyes. 'Sure' Mia replied 'as long as it's in my power'. 'Can you be friends with Chase, I'm asking you this because you haven't made your opinion on him yet...please he really needs help and it should probably be a ladies touch.

   'So wait he wants you to be friends with Chase' asked Lilly for the third time after Mia had narrated what happened in class. 'Yes Lilly that's what he asked me to do for him' said Mia as they walked into the schools huge courtyard filled with benches and big trees. 
  They sat under on of the trees which had some beautiful pink flowers falling from it,Lilly sat first before ushering Mia to join her. 'Tell me about Chase, why is so mean and moody' Mia asked. 'He was always like that, he never smiled or even smirked so there is really nothing to say said Lilly but Mia had a feeling she was lying but decided to drop it. They decided to talk about fashion, books, and obviously the bad boys of the school. Lilly filled Mia with all the happening of the school, the gossip between dates, infact Lilly was a living tabloid who knew anything and everything about everyone.
  After school Mia called her mom to come pick her from school, Lilly had gone and the school was emptying. Mia stood in front the school looking at her phone from time to time wondering what was taking her mother so long. Her eyes fell on a person who was leaning against the a tree smoking, he was tall like about 6'2 with a lanky figure, his face was covered with his over sized hoodie, Mia walked over to the stranger hoping to  have a chat inorder pass the time. As she approached the stranger she realized she knew the face and soon regretted her decision, but she still spoke any way.
   'Hey Chase' said Mia said waving at him to get his attention but Chase just continued smoke ignoring her presence. 'Hello......you do know it's rude to ignore people right?' and once more he still ignored her. Mia rolled her eyes and decided to lean on the tree as well.
She looked at her phone and still no text from her mom. Guess I'm walking home Mia thought out loud, Mia began to walk down to the pavement trying to find her way, her mom never allowed her to walk home, she was there to pick her no matter the circumstance.
  'You're going the wrong way' said Chase walking down towards Mia. 'Excuse me?' Mia retorted turning to him. 'Just saying' he said as he began to walk the opposite way. Mia looked towards where she was going and decided to follow Chase.
'So you like ice cream?' asked Mia trying to start a conversation with Chase. He didnt answer her, he just continued walking but Mia didn't give up she continued talking and talking till Chase finally cracked. 'Don't you ever shut up' he burst staring at her. 'No' she replied sticking out her tongue childishly. He held back an eye roll before pointing towards a house 'we're here goodbye'. Mia stopped and stared at the house, it was her street and it was her house and before she could ask any questions Chase wasnt there any more, she was beyond shocked before she walked slowly towards the front door that was answered by her dad who let her in but her mind kept circling around the question how did he know my house?.

  Mia stared at her mom as she gave her a flumsy excuse on how she was piled with work and couldn't leave. She ignored her mom and walked into the kitchen grabbing an apple from the pantry before heading towards the sink. Sometimes Mia wondered if her family had already started to push her out in order to protect themselves when she wasn't there any more, she sighed at her thoughts and bit into her apple. She couldn't really blame them it must be difficult losing a child.
   Her thoughts were interrupted when her phone began to ring out, she pulled it out from her pocket and saw it was Lilly, they had exchanged digits in school which made Mia happy that her new friend was calling.
'Hey Lilly' Mia said picking up the call,soon the two girls chatted away giggling and laughing about so many things, an hour and fifty minutes later Mia ended the call, she had never had such a chatter box as a friend and she smiled, happy that at least before she died she had one

  The next day Mia woke up early and got ready for school, wearing a short shirt-dress with black knee length boots, she let her hair loose, allowing it to flow down her shoulders. She packed her bag, putting in her phone, textbooks and her jotter. Her mother was already downstairs reading a book, her eyes were red and puffy but Mia didn't pat attention to her it was something she was used to. 'I want to go early to school today' Mia said as she opened the cupboard to get her favorite cereal, she smiled as her hands grabbed the yellow box of Kelloggs coco pops. 'Okay' her mom replied 'I'll just go change' her mom left the kitchen and headed towards the stairs. Mia took out a bowl from the plate rack and poured her self the cereal, taking milk from the fridge before she could add it to her cereal, she heard heavy footsteps from the stairway revealing her brother who had unfortunately woke up.
His eyes shone bright as it landed on her bowl of cereal. 'Coco pops he screamed charging into the kitchen. 'Give it, give it he yelled much to Mia annoyance. 'Rique stop it you'll wake up dad' she spoke trying to quiet him down. 'But I want coco pops, give it'. Mia pushed the bowl towards him in annoyance. 'MOM I'LL BE IN THE CAR' screamed Mia before stomping out of the house and into the car. Her morning was officially ruined.

  Ringggggggggg! Went the bell indicating class over. Mr. Graves their English teacher smiled and told them to study their notes and do the passage on page 18 of their textbooks. The students got up and emptied themselves into the hallway. Mia looked around her hoping to find Chase but he wasn't around seemed he didn't even come to school. 'Let's go to the library' said Lilly who was standing beside Mia in her black and blue striped sun dress with a blue hair band holding her long hair.
  The two walked to the library hoping to read or do their English homework for the lunch break. Mia went into the book area to pick what to read while Lilly got a seat to start her assignment. Mia glanced through the bookshelves looking for what to read, she hummed quietly in order not disturb the librarian and everyother person in the library. She got to an isle where a guy and a girl were making out. She identified the guy as Logan, Logan noticed her presence and stopped kissing the girl. 'Umm Stephie I'll see you later' he said pretty much to the girl's annoyance. She pecked Logan on the cheek before leaving shameless.
  Mia entered the isle and picked up an astrology book and glanced through it. Logan walked towards her rubbing the back of his head with his right palm. 'Sorry you had to see that' he said. 'I didn't see anything' Mia said acting surprise, 'oh you're talking about you shameless kissing a slut in a reading institute' she said hinting a mixture of sarcasm and insult. Logan smirked 'maybe you want it to be in Stephie's shoes' he said in a husky voice. Mia rolled her eyes 'you wish'. Logan winked before walking away, Mia dropped the book back and walked over to Lilly
