Tony Wayne was a billionaire, who owned Wayne Tech in Long Gotham. The Iron Bat, on the other hand...
When he was 5, His parents were killed by a mysterious man in a mask, so he was left at his late parents' mansion with their butler, Alfred Jarvis. Alfred was always there for Tony, and was always supportive of his ideas, for the most part.
But when he was 21, He found a strange entrance in the basement. The wall turned into a door. Curiosity got the better of him, and he entered the door. He found that there was a damp, dark cave. He saw that there were strange pieces of metal everywhere. There were also bats everywhere. Due to his fear of bats that developed when he was 8, he naturally tried to run away. The bats saw this though, and one of them impaled him in the chest with a piece of scrap metal, and it started bleeding. In a hurry, Tony grabbed some of the pieces of scrap metal, wire, a radiator, and glass to fashion himself an artificial rib and chest, but nothing to cover his exposed flesh, so he resorted to prosthetic skin he carved out of rubber.
He fought his first villain 4 weeks after, they were robbing the Long Gotham City Bank, and the news quickly spread.
He thought about his crime fighting name. The Cash Basher? The......Billionare Butt-Kicker? None of them sounded right. After he told Alfred the news, he was watching a video of a moral philosophy teacher. Chidi... Ariana Grande? He wasn't very familiar with the name, but he said something. "Don't run away from your fears, embrace them." He thought about it. He quickly fashioned a metal patch in the shape of a bat in the cave. He inserted it in his chest, but even though it hurt a bit at the start, he quickly moved around and it felt natural, he quickly fashioned a suit and weapons for himself.
He showed Alfred the suit.
"Why bats?" Alfred said. "Because they are the ones who gave me this." Tony replied, pointing to his chest.
And in that moment, the Iron Knight was born.
