Finn fell in deep depression when Jake and went crazy and started to hallucinate that his is mother is actually Princess Bubblegum and she is trying to get him to help and trying to make him sane again...so that's why she is a scientist and The Ice King is his Dad who killed Jake and that's why he is a villian in the show
