2nd Shift: The Plan Executes
GDN: Hey! Are you Raï Nakamata?
The boy is silent.
Kendo: He's not responding.
Kaori: He usually keeps to himself.
Suddenly, they see a gigantic black viper slither slowly from behind the tree Raï was leaning on.
Sheizo: Oh snap.
GDN: Did he summon that?
Kaguya: Probably.
The snake rose up high, ready to strike.
Kaori: Anyone got a plan?
The snake licked the air and hurled down to strike. Almost immediately afterwards, two huge centipedes burst from the ground and collided with the snake. The three animals tumbled downward. Raï opened his eyes and revealed his slim, black pupils.
GDN: (2 him) Those centipedes. Were they...*looks at Notaro* no doubt about it. Notaro summoned those.
Raï: What do ya'll want?
Kendo: We need you for an important mission.
Raï turns and starts to walk away.
Raï: No thanks.
GDN: But it'll be the perfect opportunity to sharpen your skills and become a ninja in the Expert class.
Raï: So.
Kendo: You'll be fighting mostly Veteran or even Master class ninjas.
Raï: Hmmm.
Kendo: Well, that's the only reason I'm going.
GDN: What?
Kaori: Yeah. I could care less about your district. I just want to fight.
Notaro, Sheizo, and Kaori nod in agreement. Raï turns back around.
Raï: What's up? ~F2 Outside village~
Kaori: Alright. Here's the plan. Us six Rookies will have a circle formation with...what's your name?
GDN: Tai.
Kaori: Right. With Tai in the center. We'll have to protect him because he's the only one who knows the way to his village. In this circular formation, we have to keep rotating. This takes a lot of energy to execute so deal with it. Map please.
Tai: Right.
He hands her the map and she unfolds it on the ground.
Kaori: *while marking on paper*This is the main road. It'll be heavily guarded so we'll go through the forest. We will travel only in a straight line.
Kaguya: But, it's well known that that's not a good idea.
Kaori: Exactly. That's why they'll never suspect it. That's also because our numbers. There are seven of us in total.
What about the enemy? We'll have to fight sooner or later.
Kaori: *rolling up map*We'll discuss that on the way. They've been under siege for about three days now. It'll take us maybe a day and a half to get there so we must make haste.
