// ha ha... I hate this title...//

The world was crumbling around him! The sky was purple, the ground was cracking around the castle, and he couldn't move! It was like sleep paralysis. The ground he stood on began to chip away, slowly creeping toward him. Why couldn't he control it!? It was like learning all over again!

The ground began to quake. He was losing it! He was losing his cool, his world, and his consciousness.

He was beginning to hyperventilate! He couldn't breathe! His vision was starting to go black!

"George!"

Suddenly, a calming voice spoke. "I don't know if you can hear me... but breathe and everything will be okay.

Breathe Dream, breathe."

Dream blinked open to see George right in front of his face. "Hey, good morning Georgie."

George gave a huffed laugh. "You had a nightmare?"

Dream stiffened. "Please... I- I don't want you to get mixed up in my mess..."

George just smiled and looked out to nothing in particular. "It is your mess... but I want to be there with you. Nothing is as hard when there's two people."

Dream wanted to cry... he wanted to make sure George had a life where there were no problems for him... he wanted to protect him...

"Would you be willing to meet me in my dreams?" He asked.

George looked at him and scoffed a laugh. "I never did like the way I fainted."

Dream places his hands on George's shoulders and George closed his eyes and limply fell into Dream's arms.

"Sorry, it's the fun way..."

-~-~-

George only saw darkness for a few minutes...

Only a few...

But it was enough... for him to appear.

"Good evening, Georgie." A dark voice rang out.

A red hooded figure came out from behind George. He placed a hand on George's shoulder and placed his hand under George's chin, He flinched slightly causing the figure in red to smile.

"Night... morning... I never know... being trapped in the darkest part of Clay's mind. You look nice... for someone who is shorter than me."

George slapped the taller man's hand away. The man gave a scoffed laugh looking at his hand.

"Tsk tsk Georgie..."

George felt a shutter run through him.

"You know what happens when you hIt Me!"

George let out a scream, hid his face and ducked down... but nothing hurt him.

George heard struggling from behind him. He turned around and saw Dream and the red figure fighting each other.

"I knew you were hurting him! WHAT DID I TELL YOU NIGHTMARE!"

"Haha! You're so cute. YOU ACTUALLY LOVE HIM! YOU BROKE THE RULES! YOUR'RE GOING TO BE STUCK HERE WITH ME!"

Nightmare jumped at Dream only to disappear moments before he reached him.

"What does he mean Dream?" George asked quietly.

Dream stayed quiet.

"Dream..?" George places his hand on Dreams shoulder.

Dream flinched but didn't look at him.

"Dream I can't help if you don't tell me what's wrong."

Dream quickly turned around and buried his face in the crook of George's neck. He started sobbing soon after.

George settles them slowly on the ground and the world faded to a grassy field with a small breeze.

"Shh~ Everything will be okay."

"George! I died in your arms! I let him hurt you! And EVERY SINGLE TIME you felt what I feel." Dream screamed just clinging to George even more. "And all I want for you... is for you... to have a life that I can make you happy."

George hugged Dream tighter. "The life I want... is to be with you."

George started crying too. He didn't know that Dream really cared for what he wanted.

Dream eventually stopped crying and just laid in George's arms, simply listening to the breeze.

"Do you want to know a secret?" Dream asked suddenly.

"Sure."

"Being a DreamWalker is hard, unlike your job where it just comes to you. You have to have a connection to the DreamScape and Reality, or you could be stuck in the DreamScape for the rest of your life." Dream said shakily.

"I didn't know that..." George said breathlessly.

"Yeah, not many people do... my father didn't... he died to his own evil... finally giving in and letting go."

"I'm sorry Dream."

"It's alright... my mom is the one at fault..."

George questioned himself for a second. "Why?"

"She hid my powers... for a good reason, she didn't want to lose me... but just never let me be myself..." Dream said.

"I'm sorry Dream... if I had known... I would have found you..."

"There is nothing you need to worry about it." Dream sat up from George's lap. "George, you know I love you... and I'd give my life for you... just know that."

George blushed a bright red as Dream kissed his forehead. "You know George... you are my link to reality. I love you."

Slowly they both returned to reality.

George was curled up against Dream's chest. He gave a smile and fell into a daydream.

Dream began to control and make George's dream perfect. Even if it was just a simple thing like a daydream.

Bad and Skeppy walked in and Dream gave them a silent nod. Skeppy and Bad returned it, but Bad looked like he'd been crying... both of them actually. They sat down on the other bed and simply slept. Dream questioned himself for a moment.

'Hmm... what could be wrong?' Dream thought quietly.

Dream paid no mind for now... he knew that Bad would tell him in a dream.

George whimpered and pushed away from Dream a little. Dream grabbed something from his pocket and waved it over George's head.

George then hugged Dream tighter. "Dream?"

"Yeah, a nightmare huh?"

"Please... I beg of you... please stay alive." George whispered so only Dream could hear. "I can't lose you again... please just stay by my side."

Dream smiled and responded.

"Til death do us part."
