Scooby Runner Vol. 1

Chapter 3

Elsewhere in Silica City, a woman in her 20s wearing an orange turtleneck sweater that had  red skirt sewn on, orange knee high socks, and red shoes was walking down the sidewalk, humming to herself. However, she came to a stop to take off her glasses to clean them off. This was Velma Dinkley and much like Fred and Daphne, Velma had a Meta Runner arm, but her's was orange with red stripes. After Mystery Inc. pretty much went their separate ways, Velma landed a job at TAS Corp. However, she quit after hearing something rather suspicious.

"Damn glasses getting fogged up." Velma said before fully cleaning off her glasses. "Should have followed through with that contact lense idea that Lucks suggested while I still worked at TAS Corp."

That's when Velma heard a very familiar voice calling out for help.

"What the?" Velma whispered to herself before putting on her glasses and running to see if who she thought was calling out for help was the one calling out. When she arrived to who was calling out, she saw that it was her friend Shaggy, kneeled down next to an injured Scooby  Doo. "Shaggy??? What the hell happened?"

Shaggy was the only human member of Mystery Inc. to not have a Meta Runner arm. He had on a green plad shirt, brown/maroon pants, black laced shoes, had brown hair, and had a bit of a beard growing. Currently, Shaggy is roughly the same age as Fred as well.

"Velma! Thank god you're here. Scoob's in desperate need of help." Shaggy said in a frantic manner. "We were on our way home from watching a movie, but we were attacked by guys with guns and Scoob ended up getting almost all six bullets that were shot loaded into him. I, like, managed to get the bullets out myself and stop the bleeding, but he still needs help."

Velma kneeled down next to the great dane who was whimpering in pain,and slowly rubbed him, being careful not to touch a sensitive spot

"There's a way into my office at TAS Corp. that not even the CEO and other top scientists knew about and still don't know about." Velma said after a moment of thinking. "If we get Scooby into my office, we should be able to give him cybernetic enhancements that could possibly save his life and allow him to move again. But we only have two days before the damage stops him from moving permanently."

Shaggy carefully picked up Scooby.

"Then, like, lead the way, Velma." Shaggy said

"Follow me." Velma said as she started walking, Shaggy following without question. "It's hidden away in the main TAS Corp. labs cause I asked for it to be separate from the other offices for better thinking space during my time working there."

Within half an hour, they arrived to the back of the main TAS Corp. building.

"This is it...." Velma said as she walked up to the wall

Shaggy and Scooby shared a glance before Shaggy walked up behind her.

"So....how does this entrance work?" Shaggy asked

Velma pressed a few bricks in a specific pattern and an eye scanner came out as she took off her glasses. The eye scanner scanned Velma's eyes and a door opened up, almost silently.

"Oh, that's how." Shaggy said

As they stepped through the entrance, Velma put on her glasses and heard footsteps just as the hidden entrance shut behind them.

"Someone's coming. Quick, into the closet!" Velma ordered in a whisper

Within seconds Scooby, Shaggy, and  Velma hid in the nearby storage closet.

Velma opened the storage closet door a little, just enough to be able to se out into the hallway and spot a couple of TAS Corp. guards standing there, staring at the wall that was a concealed entrance.
