Chapter 2

I woke up on a Saturday with a beautiful morning dew. I entered the bathroom and did the usuals. I dressed in a navy blue Jeans and a Dora the Explorer top, Oh Allah my love for this cartoon is out of this world and topped the dressing with my maroon kimono and a black turban.

   I unplugged my phone from the socket as it is my habit to always leave my phone to charge at night. I received missed calls and morning messages as usual from bae(Kamal my classmate) we have been dating since ss1, he has been so nice and caring towards our relationship. We don't usually hang around in school because he's an art student and we don't normally meet except during break of 30mins maximum.

   I picked up the phone,checked the messages and it reads;

Good morning my Hayat

Wake up my sleeping beauty

And the one which caught my attention the most is;

Can't wait to see your beautiful face later in the day noorul ayn.

Oh Allah Kamal won't be death of me.

   I blushed and made a mental note to call him after my habitual Saturday duties. I left my room after putting on the incense burner which has a bahour scent. I first went to Mami's room but she was not there so I went downstairs to the kitchen and met her there. She was making pre lunch snack while the usual me did not even have breakfast.

   I greeted mami with the utmost respect and she answered with great care and love which you can sense in her voice. I helped her finish the pies that were to be made for the pre lunch and then made plantain with egg sauce as my brunch. Ruu my 8 years old sister kept on blabbing while we were eating. Mami asked her to keep shut and concentrate on her meal.

   My phone then rang and Bae was written on the screen, I rejected the call and was dead scared for a moment that I totally forgot about my food. I excused myself and went to take my call as Mami already knew about me dating him as i don't hide anything from her. I had a long conversation with Kamal as we talked about nothing and everything. We ended the call after blowing kisses to one another.

   I quickly ate my remaining brunch. Few minutes later, I was at the kitchen doing the dishes. Immediately when I was done, Ruu came into the kitchen so I asked her to sweep the kitchen while I sweep the parlour and she reluctantly nodded. Few minutes later, I was done with my own part of the work so I went to check on Ruu and she was not done. I did not blame her though because the kitchen is so massive as it could serve as someone's living room and bedroom.

   After Ruu was done, We sat down together and she gisted me about her fight with her best friend Najma, I scolded and advised her to be more patient when dealing with people and she said she'll try her very best.

Ummi I'm off to see my wife to-be I told my mother as i was descending from the stairs. I know some people can't discuss this things with their parents but with me it is a different case. Kai ďannan wa yace maka matarka ce hah. I just laughed and did not answer as I know Ummi, we can sleep here talking about one issue and as for me my only wish is to see my babe. She showered her blessings on me and asked me to greet Ilham.

   I texted my bae and informed her that I'll be at her place in few minutes time.
