Mike POV
"...The animal skin falls away to reveal a secret door." Will says mysteriously,
"Okay I'll do a perception check on the door—"
Ding! Dong!
"Who's that? All our families are here, well except Erica, Steve's babysitting her but..." Lucas starts to go into a rant about the flow of the campaign, until...
"Y/m/n!"
"Karen!" We hear from upstairs.
"Oh shit." I muttered realizing who had come.
After a few minutes my mom called;
"Michael! Will! Dustin! Lucas! Come upstairs please!"
Y/n POV
"Well come in! Make yourselves at home, I can take that, come into the kitchen! That's where the party is."
Karen ushered us in and took the huge plate of brownies that my mom made. As we made our way into the kitchen, I paused to look at a family photo. I there was Karen, standing beside her husband, Ted? I think that's his name, Karen had a little girl on her hip. An older girl sat in front of Ted, she didn't look like her mother but she was still very pretty. Beside the older girl was a boy with thick dark hair.
Yep. I guessed right.
It was Mike Wheeler. I've had a small crush on him, okay, medium sized— fine! I've had a huge crush on Mike since the third grade.
"Y/n, honey, how about you join us in the kitchen and I'll call the boys to come up here." Karen says.
I hurry into the kitchen as mrs Wheeler opens the door to the basement, "Michael! Will! Dustin! Lucas! Come upstairs please!"
Oh fuck. Oh shit. Fuuuuuuccckkkk.
Mike POV
Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit.
I'm not going to lie, I've really, really liked Y/n since first grade, I knew she was never going to like me back but I still had hope. When I saw El, I forgot about Y/n. Even when El and I were dating, I wanted Y/n to be my friend. My feelings for her are a little complicated...
"Come on!" I say a little too quickly, Lucas and Dustin exchange curious glances.
I'm excited, but mostly nervous, very nervous really.
