You decided to go into Keene's corner store. The owner, Mr. Keene, would have to be there right? He couldn't just leave his store unattended. The sign on the door said 'open' so you walked inside to the cashier but no one was there.

"Hello?" you called out "Mr. Keene, are you there?" you paused to see if anyone would answer "Gretta? Anyone?" still no answer. 'well shit' you thought. You didn't know what to do anymore. Where was everyone? You kept asking yourself this. The store was silent and uncomfortable. You decided to leave, grabbing a box of cigarettes from the shelf as you walked out the door.

Leaning up against the brick wall of Keene's store, you slid down and opened your new pack of cigars, lighting one and inhaling. You let out a big puff of smoke. The sky was really blue with very few clouds floating in it. 'it's gonna be hot today' you thought. Relaxing against the wall you closed your eyes and sat alone with your thoughts. At least until they were interrupted by a loud revving noise- 'a car engine' you thought. Your eyes snapped open 'someone must be here' you thought. Your eyes darted to where the noise was coming from- a blue trans am came speeding down the road towards you. Shit. Belch Huggins' blue trans am.

You slowly began to stand up, incase you had to defend yourself against the pack of psychos.
As they slowly pulled up, the leader, Henry Bowers, rolled down his window and made eye contact with you. He lowered the volume on the loud rock music playing.

"Where the hell is everyone?" he asked, with a lot of harshness in his voice.

"I could ask you the same thing" you replied. You decided to stay at least 4 feet away from the car in case they pulled anything. It would be easier for you to run that way.

"Well she's no fuckin' help" you heard someone mutter in the back. It was probably Patrick. It was clear that Henry had ignored his friend and looked back at you. He looked a little nervous and you could see he was fumbling with the bottom of his red muscle shirt. He quickly realized he looked worried, though, and quickly changed back into the prick he was before.

"You don't think they... disappeared" he smirked at you. He was trying to scare you- and quite honestly it did kind of scare you. What if everyone had actually disappeared. You didn't know. It was just a weird morning. Everyone got really quiet for a moment.

"What if they really did disappear" You heard Victor quietly say in the back.

"Oh don't be such a pussy, Victor" Henry said "that's not fucking possible" You could hear the worry in Henry's voice though. He looked back at you.

"See you around i guess" He said to you, turning his music back up. You nodded and walked away from the car. They drove off and the loud music from the their car eventually faded out. You thought back to your small conversation you had. There was so much going through your head. 'Where was everyone?' 'How did you and the bowers gang end up being the last five people on earth- or at least in Derry?' 'Why is everyone gone?'
You couldn't answer any of those and it was frustrating. You didn't want to think of it anymore and besides, the sun was beating down on your head making you sweat so you thought it was best to go for a quick swim in the quarry. It was your favorite thing to do on hot days.
