Chapter IV: truth or dare

Throughout the week Richie was acting jealous of Eddie's relationship with Jessica; every time Eddie talked about her he called him a virgin and every time she passed by to say 'hey' he got super annoyed. But what made Eddie furious the most is that before all that he rejected her multiple times and laughed about her being desperate but now that she doesn't want him he's mad? Eddie liked to think that he wasn't jealous of his relationship with Jessica, but perhaps he was jealous of Jessica's relationship with him. But that was too silly of him to think.

FRIDAY

~11:53am~

AT LUNCH

Eddie was on his way to the losers' table when Jessica passed by.

'hey what are you doing after school?' she asked while Brittany and Vanessa were standing behind her giving him a judgy look.

'actually I'm having a little party with my friends so...' he was about to say that maybe they could go out some other day.

'great do you think I can come too?'

'I don't know i mean I'm not sure... but I'll ask them' even thought he liked her, he didn't want her to come because he just wanted to spend time with his friends and he knew he couldn't do that if she was around.

'sweet' she smiled and kissed him on the chick as he made eye contact with Richie who was red like a tomato.

'hey guys' he said as he sat down across Richie and after mike greeted him back he asked 'do you guys think I can bring Jessica at Ben's party?'

'what!' Richie shouted 'of course not... I mean' he thought for a second how should he phrase it better 'I mean do you really think she would wanna hang out with us?'

'actually she asked me herself if she can come...' Eddie sneered. Although he didn't really want to bring her, he still wanted Richie to envy.

'but it's not fair' Stan backed Richie up 'nobody else brings their girlfriend'

'jeez she's not my girlfriend'

'girlfriend or not you can bring whoever you want, right Ben' Beverly insisted looking at Ben, the host.

'yeah sure I don't care' he said with his mouth full of food.

'but it's supposed to be between us, the boys... and you beverly of course' said Richie as Beverly rolled her eyes.

'you know what? maybe it would be nice to have more girls besides me.'

FRIDAY

~11:48pm~

AT BEN'S HOUSE

They were watching The Goonies in the living room when Eddie finally showed up. There were two bottles of vodka that probably Richie brought cause he knows where his mother hides here alcohol, one bottle of wine that Eddie assumed Stanley stole from his father, lots of empty cans of beer on the floor and few full ones in the losers' hands.

'hey' he waved awkwardly and sat down next to Richie on the floor.

'where's Jessica?' Beverly asked.

'emm... she's busy' he lied.

'told ya she's not into virgins' Richie teased him.

'shut up' Eddie urged.

'yeah shut up trashmouth' repeated Mike and throw his empty can at him 'we're trying to watch a movie here.'

As they were watching the movie Richie put his hand on the floor then Eddie did the same, and slowly their hands started to approach until their pinky fingers were hugging. Eddie quickly took a peek at their hugging pinkies then back at the TV and felt his heart beating faster and faster. When the movie finally ended Ben yelled

'who wants to play truth or drink?' he and Richie both immediately took away their hand

'I'm first' yelled Stanley 'Soooooo Bev, do you like bill?' She didn't answer and took a sip of the opened bottle of vodka.

'Hmmmm... who should I ask' she said looking around 'oh I know... Ben' she turned at him 'do you like me?' Ben looked a little uncomfortable then took the bottle out of Beverly's hand and took a sip as well.

'what a pussy' Richie whispered .

'Eddie' said Ben 'do you like Jessica?'

He looked at Richie who was gazing at him then he looked at everyone else who were waiting for an answer. He was considering saying no or at least taking a drink but instead he said:

'I guess yeah'

He was about to ask Richie if he likes girls but he went upstairs saying that he's going to bed. So instead he asked Stanley if he likes girls and to his surprise he took a drink. Stanley and Bill were the next ones to go to bed and after Mike and Ben passed out they decided to call it off. Beverly went to sleep on the couch and Eddie went upstairs. He opened a random door and saw Richie with puffy red eyes seating on the edge of the bed smoking a fat blunt.

'Is everything alright?' he asked and sat next to him.

'yeah sure' he replied and took a puff 'want some?' he handed him the blunt.

Eddie took it and took a puff 'why did you left so early?' he asked although he felt like he knew the answer.

'emm... I just,... it's just that I'm already wasted' he improvised 'besides, I would much rather play truth or dare'

They sat for a moment in an awkward silence passing between each other the blunt until Eddie said:

'truth or dare?'

'what?' Richie said in confusion.

'truth or dare?' he said again.

'truth' said Richie.

'are you gay?' Eddie asked.

'yes' he replied simply with no hesitation.

'truth or dare?' asked Richie.

'dare' said Eddie.

'kiss me' said Richie.

Eddie looked at him then at his lips then grabbed his face and gave him a soft kiss on the lips. His heart was beating so fast that he didn't know what to do. When they seperated they looked at each other and Eddie was literally ready to torn him to shreds right there, but he was too scared and not drunk enough so he just burst out of the room closing the door behind him. He opened another random door were he saw Bill going down on Stanley and he slammed the door before they even saw him. He ran downstairs and laid down on the floor next to Ben hoping to fall asleep as quickly as possible.
